~Blankets of Love!~
From a series of poems I've written for a book about the actor James Franco! It's one of my prize pieces from this collection of work, and I'm quite certain he'd be very pleased with this poem and the entire book for that matter. I can't wait till all those pieces are posted on Vocal to join this one too where all of it should be! It will be a good day when the actor finally gets to read the whole little self-published book!
~Blankets of Love~
Blankets and Blankets and Blankets of Love,
You alone with the sad eyes
Look what you do to those who admire you?
You give them strength
They find love in all that you sacrifice,
But do they understand
What that takes,
You making your life LOOK like it’s a piece of cake?
When all you want is Blankets and Blankets and Blankets of Love,
Someone to have beneath them with you
Someone to care
In that place of escape,
Someone you can share it all, in there with you.
Blankets and Blankets and Blankets of love
You with the tell it all eyes,
With pictures painted perfectly expressed on your face.
How do I get away?
Does it ever stop?
Is this really all I want out life?
Is this my claim?
Blankets and Blankets and Blankets of Love
All of it coming your way
From them to you,
Because of what you do
And what they get
For what you dare to share!
What they could never bare
Unable to give the exchange,
What it means to give up all you do
To put on a show,
To get it right
To Entertain
And find joy alone in that?
While they joyfully witness it back
In their gentle and kind replies, their
Blankets and Blankets and Blankets of Love
Hold on for just one more day,
Travel to just one more place
Meet yet again a sea of new faces
Looking confidently for that ONE,
Out there somewhere
Carrying on with the same dream
And hope
To be the one to hold you,
Even if for just ONE NIGHT
In that place in mind
With you.
To give you all that love
To fill that empty space
That waits
Just big enough for 2,
Sharing the world and
Everything that comes with
Blankets, and Blankets and Blankets of Love!
