Hiding the truth

Disguising the lies

Porcelain skin,

baby blue eyes

*

Transparent Chameleons

A cruel surprise

Chances are thin

When roads lead to goodbye

*

The weather has turned

On the breeze is a change

When the bridges are burning

The guilty quickly change lanes

*

Can’t see the sky

For the forest of trees

Every reason to try

End up back on my knees

*

Excuses are spoken

Responses delayed

Promises broken

The damage displayed

*

Lights of lace flicker, dotting the bay

As the skyline begs to be seen

Nightlife shows off and shows up the day

Specks of stars hide somewhere, between.

*

Sunsets like fireworks, set on display

Banal and sienna traced clouds

Regret- are the words that you chose to say

When you first said them aloud

*

Memories call like sirens

Screaming late, into the night

Warnings are alarming

When you’re giving up the fight

*

As daylight re-awakens

All the shadows hurry away

The city’s midnight exploitation

In a broken-hearted masquerade

sad poetry

Sad, yet beautifully written. Well done, as always
