I’m sorry I treat you so badly

how I did and still do, treat you

---

you need more than I give you

yet there was a time that I gave you too much

---

I wish I could find a good middle ground for you

---

I’m sorry for all the pain I’ve caused you

all the cuts made by the edge of a razor

for the scratches and bruises I’ve left on you

for the way I talk to you

about you

---

You’ve never done anything

but try to keep me going

and for some reason,

it was never enough

I always came back

to blaming you

---

You deserve better than me

and my self-destructive mind

---

you deserve to be fed and taken care of

you deserve to feel full of warm food

---

And it’s taken me years to figure it out

with relapses here and there

but I try to be good to you,

to be better for you

---

and hopefully, eventually,

it’ll be enough for you
