Michigan, Virginia, Florida, New York
They follow me everywhere.
A Poor Person Dinner in Michigan,
A hillbilly meal in Virginia paired with cornbread,
Soup beans with Grandpa in Florida,
And now the two cans that sit next to my head.
They are everywhere,
They are there when I wake up,
They are a main side dish when I eat dinner,
And they are there when I play a game with Grandma.
No matter where I go,
There is no escape.
And there is no escape from the women in my family's house
who eat the legumes. There will always be consequences from the beans.
