Barefoot in the Rain

Revealing the Child Within

By Cheryl E PrestonPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

It's raining, it's pouring

Others run for shelter

But I am adoring the blissfulness

of the droplets touching my skin

Splish splash as I skip like a child

My bare feet making contact with the earth

So cool and refreshing

Restorative and invigorating

The rain soaks my clothing

And splatters against my feet

I run and jump

I'm a child again

Enjoying a simple pleasure

A flash of lightening, a crack of thunder

It's time to go inside

But oh the fun I've had

Can't wait to do it again
