Baby Shower and Graduation Party
This weekend I attended both events a couple of hours away.
The baby shower
Mommy a beautiful flower
Games played
Baby names splayed
We were the winningest table
not anything like a sable
but lots of things!
Presents were books of fable
no rings
~
The husband's childhood work
was a special surprise— Daddy’s art in a book
he is so great, not a jerk
he is a catch — a hook
an artist even at a young age
maybe not for stage
he may be a sage
Handled everything cool
he is no fool
They will make good parents
Parents are already grandparents
My brother is the granddaddy
and my niece's husband will be a good daddy.

The graduation party
Was very arty
Party planner was grandma
Guess who was thrilled. The momma
The graduate is a great-niece
Her mom is my niece
Beautiful venue
A great view
~
It was at grandma’s house
she lives there with her spouse
Then arriving late — the graduate's daddy
His ex-mother-in-laws place
Some awkwardness in this space
My brother is the granddaddy
and he wasn’t at the ex-wife's home
I can’t get into that as this is not a tome
~
It was a great time, with delicious food
and great company put me in a good mood
I spent time with my brother in my hotel room
There was no gloom
I had dinner with a sister friend
No fight, no fright, we are tight.
Went to bed when there was no light.
Then I slept through the night.
The end.

Oooo, what kinda food were there? Loved your poems!
You just brought your experience in a poem. I appreciate it. I bet you more enjoyed the baby shower 😉.
Great work with the rhyming for that made it fun to read. Wow, a baby showing and graduation party. Busy, busy, busy.
