Autumn Mania

It's almost as ravishing as I am...

The air is getting cooler.

I feel my skin erect with goosebumps as the crisp, autumn air kisses my forearms.

My blitzed mind racing with overwhelming notions.

I am on top of the world.

As I gape amongst the saplings and wide-reaching oak trees,

I observe the deep yellows, crimson reds and bright orange tones dwelling in the forest around me.

The audacity that it has,

To be this beautiful.

My manic eyes absorb every phenomenal shade.

It's almost as ravishing as I am.

My porcelain skin damp from the dewy air around me

As I breathe in the magnificent, earthy scents of fungi

And bacteria decomposing corpses of the once evergreen plants.

They are ghosts now,

But I am coming back to life.

I strut upon this soggy soil like a celebrity walks the red carpet.

I am the ruler of the forest.

I am a goddess.

Mania boils in my blood

Racing through my veins and filling up my heart

And soon it will be so full that it'll finally spill over.

It will spread to my head and deteriorate my thoughts.

But for now,

I'm alive.

Intoxicated even.

Blitzed on life.

Free.

For just a moment.
