Spring

It's finally here

There's a gentle spring breeze rustling in my ponytail

And a little Chevy Malibu humming down the street,

With a soft pink sunset gazing into my deep, ocean blue eyes.

The city sparkles for miles and miles,

Calling my heart to winding highways

Leading me to lonely, country dirt roads

Where the crickets will whisper my name

In a song that only I can recite.

A song made only for me.

I'll sit in an endless field and sing along all night long,

Making shooting star wishes,

As my heart becomes whole again,

Because spring is finally here.
