Am I Dreaming?

Is it possible to repair or at least neutralise past blunders? A poem

I don’t know if I’m dreaming

But it would be something good to see

Things went to hell in that handcart

It doesn’t matter who or why

You or me

It was the situation really

And the tiniest of moves

anger rigidity

Misunderstood

An overused word if ever there was

But only because it’s true

I’d like to observe something

That’s very rarely seen

A chat, a discussion

Something to show

That even after a friendship perfectly fine

Has turned painful, frightful and simply bad

Good things, great things even, from this can grow

And this can be agreed upon by the those injured

In a way that shows

That there is more that makes us all the same

Than ever pulled us separate, in pain

Things change of course

But nastiness need not be a certainty in that you know.

It might sound like a flight of fancy

But one day we will all drop the ego

And understand the complexities

That make us human

It starts here my friend

Am I dreaming?

I don’t see why it can’t be so
