about sadness a little

a poem

sad days are always like this

today we buried our Queen

my birthday is always the same

when I am drowning in sorrow in my bed

only sleep seems substantial

ample to scare the monsters away from me

to dispel this cloud of insufferable insufficiency

into the finest specks

and collect them strong enough

to carry on with this life

even if the constant phrase:

“I don’t want to”

comes to the surface

every single day

what am I supposed to do with it?

I’ll arrange it so

in the verse

to reverse

the meaning and matter of things

same as I have been doing

for bloody decades

even if no one can bear this

testimony to the truth

but me
