The trail lays littered with the leaves of this year’s turning. They bring a certain completeness to the cycle. A realization of our temporary part in this grand reality.
It is easy to miss, as we run through our lives, just another year winding down. Another brick layed in our path of life. Our attention is elsewhere, caught up in our own existence, too occupied to live in the present. Too concerned for the tomorrow that may not come for some.
So I welcome the fallen leaves, their duty almost complete.
I am witness to this, I see this, and I revel in the turning. The completeness of what we’ve been given, and the uncompromising beauty that surrounds.
