A Touch of Passion

A Poem for Lovers

By Daniel ColePublished 7 years ago 1 min read

When morning comes, rising on the sun

You appear to me as a Solstice breeze

The very first flush a sensational rush

Of you to me and me in you

At last we lay in ethereal rays

Emanating breath, we turn in rest

A flick of the wrist on a day such as this

Sends me over and under, no one would wonder

You would be my muse

And I your Adonis

And whether gleaming moonlight

Or rain fall upon us

This shall be for a time, in time, all time

I should walk through your garden, and plead for your pardon

The Rose I wouldst stole that could render your soul

Cleave to me and mine, and in all due time

Favor savor the flavor of my modest behavior

But I’ll labor inside a Lothario’s pride

Til the moment confide and fortuitous tide

That you would be my muse

And I your Adonis

Neither fear of the heavens

Or men tear us asunder

This shall be for a time, in time, all time

Water run over flesh be my gentle press

And the heat of my chest caressed to your breast

Heave and pulse, we arise, I’ll transfix on your eyes

And alight we shall burn that long sought yearn

Then you would be my muse

And I your Adonis

In my arms may you sleep

As a love close to keep

And we shall be in time, for all time at that time
