Just vote

There’s no knife to your throat

Just vote

Who cares if you can afford your child’s new coat

Just vote

We need a new boat

Just vote

Now the knife is to your throat

The world grows hotter and hotter

Just hold out

Vote a little harder

Who cares for the protection of your daughter

We have ours

Just switch to electric cars

They’ll change everything

Blame the consumer

They’re responsible for the environmental tumor

Shhh,

I heard a rumor

The new battle is gen z vs boomer

Time to destroy ourselves

Some of the structures will remain

Even after we’re drained

The stealth

Of intergenerational wealth

Entire families living on the philosophy of self first

They own us in life

And in the hearse

Bleeding us dry

Charging us to live and die

There is no doubt

We have but a few ways out

Stop holding the knife to your brother’s throat

It’s time to do more than vote

Evocative and coated in truth! Nothing like poetry to tell it like it is.

    Great work. Well done.

  • I'm amazed and the people who do nothing, or vote against their better interests then complain about the results, young peole couldnlt be bothered in the UK and now complain about our fascist government and the continued removal of rights and paid for benefits. Excellent work.

Nicely done! Agitation & frustration shines through here. 🌎
