A Relationship Now Served Cold
A Poem
Thank you Oneg In The Arctic for the first line.
I’ll laugh if this gets lifted
She said
Having no idea what she started in my head
I first laughed at what I just read
But then it stuck
Unfortunately
Sometimes friends steal
Yes, as sad as it is
It is real
Still don’t know how to feel about it
Especially when they’re held in high regard
And touted
As a pillar of the community
How could they do this?
To me?
Why, oh why?
You of all people?
I thought I would let go after just one
But it required a sequel
I thought you were my equal
I even looked up to you
Your kind words
Your seemingly endless work ethic
Always seemed so hectic
Now I want nothing to do with you
Because now I see the truth
There’s nothing but hollow greed
That spews from you

Oof, I've felt this too much lately. You said it so well, but sorry if it's true for you :(
This. Was. Spot. On. Loved your poem!
Yes, some people are truly awful. But they teach us a lot.
'Tis a shame when someone does it. 'Tis a rotten shame.
Nicely said. Sh*tty but true words, sometimes we think we know someone and then we find out that we knew less.
Whew this was heavy!
