There weren't always dragons in the valley...
There might have been, once, but we never fought them.
We were Heroes, once, and there is no-one else to answer the call...

If there had been, and witnesses to their presence, people would have gossiped
Darkness rises, and a child rises to meet it...

The Stakes are high enough, without that kind of ill omen.
Peace has a price, but is it too high to pay?

Dragons generally don't frequent coffee shops, even magical ones.
I do, and I swear it's not just because of the cute Fae Barista...

But they haunt battlefields, because hordes have to be gathered from somewhere.
Lights dance across the northern sky, and Valkyries decend to greet their chosen.

A shame, because it would have done wonders for the Aesthetics.
And to deter the Heroes who still won't grasp the concept of leaving Introverts alone!

They didn't get along with most of the other supernatural creatures who lived there
The Werewolf communities didn't mind dragons, but they were about to have bigger problems.

Even when there were, the inhabitants of the small fishing village was more concerned with the things that were said to lurk beneath the waves.
One fisherman was about to find out.

They came and settled in the peaks once a year, to nest. This year would be different.
