A moment of Silence
To those who have lost their breaths
Just trying to breathe.
A moment of Silence
To those who were only fulfilling
An unspoken need
Of acceptance
In society's ways of respectfulness. A moment of Silence
For those whom most call a bore
Because he or she might be
Of colorful skin-colored scorch. A moment. One more moment
To grieve, for those who just wish to be seen. Another moment of Silence
To those trying to do the right thing
In a world mixed with hate and greed;
Filled with rage and sheathed
In beauty beyond compare. While darkness surrounds you
A moment of Silence, can you spare?

I wrote this poem for the people of the recent shootings and those who have lost their lives to hate crimes. We must all take a moment of silence for an unjustified death. Thank you for reading!
