A king summoned his jester one late summer's eve, and he told his old friend with a sigh,

'My road has soon to come to its end, but I'm scared of the fact that I'll die.

The jester smiled back with a sad old smile, as he laid a warm hand on his king,

'My Lord', he said as a tear left his eye, 'but think of the things that you've seen.

Huge sapphire lakes and forests so deep,

Explosions of sunsets and soft gentle creeks.

You've seen mountains kiss clouds and waterfalls blue,

All of this beauty and so much more too,

Don't worry my king, for when you do go,

You'll become a part of all that you know.

Your breath in the wind, your heart in the trees,

Your eyes in the stars, your soul in the seas.

Your journey ends not when your eyes finally close,

The journey thereafter's the greatest you'll know'.

-

With that thought he stopped, for he'd said all he could,

The warm night around them grew thoughtful in mood.

The king wiped his eyes, with a royal silken sleeve,

Then two old friends embraced on a late Summer's eve.
