A Familiar Dream
A surreal poem
The places in my dreams,
I’ve been there more than twice.
My dreams are vivid and quite nice.
It’s a very familiar feeling.
A sense of home.
The energy is sweet like honeycomb.
In my dreams, I live a different life.
Lost but not lonely in paradise.
I control the laws of nature.
I control the rules of society.
Here in my dream world,
I never have anxiety.
Finances can’t limit the
Variety of fresh foods.
Sobriety is much easier.
No negative attitudes.
It’s a priceless vacation all year round.
I can lie on the ground and brown—
Even in the winter.
I am never bound by Mother Nature.
I am the controller of the seasons.
I can make it snow or rain for any reason.
Disturbing me while I am asleep,
Is an act of treason!

I love living in my dreams! Such a lovely poem!
I like the feel and tone of this new piece. Imaginative and warmly funny. Good one!! 👏☺️✨🌙🌚
The energy is sweet like honeycomb. Is a GORGEOUS line! Putting taste into this made it so much more immersive!
Hear Hear! Beautiful! It's like you're describing my dream world. So relatable.
Beautiful. When I was a child, it bothered me that I could not control my dreams. I tried imagining things before I fell asleep, but still, I was unable to control what happened once I entered my dream world. I was stalked in my dreams by the devil, and it was terrifying. Then, one Sunday at Church, the Pastor preached that if you call on God and resist the devil, he will flee. (James 4:7. “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”) I felt empowered, and soon I learned to lucid dream, controlling my dreams. I very much relate to your beautiful poem, R.P.!
Beautifully written!
