A Child's Whispers to Santa's Sleigh

A Christmas Prayer

A beguiled child waiting by the evergreen tree, so bright.

Cuddling his soft toy teddy bear very tight.

Orange and red flames, like knights in shiny armor, fight.

Old father time, clock hands slowly wholly inch life forward tonight.

Two knit stockings in red hues hung on the ample mantle site.

Gifts compiled under the decorated tree despite.

Another Christmas without his beloved mother in sight.

A motherless child, celebrating Christmas on this winter's night.

Will there be a starry night?

So Santa in his merriment can traverse a cobalt sky following a highway of light?

Wishes for Santa to make a stop in heaven for his mommy during his flight.

Little Noah squeezed his eyes shut so tight.

A prayer sent up by the ashes of the dancing flames at twilight.

Whispers of comfort and love for his ghostly mommy on this Christmas night.

So touching. Wonderful to have created an artwork, then a poem, then shared both for our delight. So much better to see some original illustration of a story than the usual Unsplash. Well done.
