60 Minutes

A Poem

The darkest hour only lasts 60 minutes

But it can feel like a lifetime

When you're in it

We sometimes forget the happy hour

60 minutes of sublime

We can't have one without the other

They must exist adjacent to one another

Would we know what one is?

If the other we did miss

So enjoy every kiss, every laugh, every smile

And remember the sad time will fade in a while

It won't be gone away

In your soul, your heart, it will stay

It will leave a memory, a scar

But the happy is waiting, it's never very far

Tomorrow you may smile at a star
