What are the eight simple 'happiness hacks'?

1. Conducting acts of kindness

2. Increasing social connections (such as striking up conversations with strangers)

3. Savouring experiences

4. Deliberately drawing our attention to the positive parts of our days (e.g. by writing down ‘Three Good Things’ that happened today)

5. Expressing gratitude (e.g. students are asked to write a gratitude letter to someone they never properly thanked)

6. Getting sufficient sleep

7. Engaging in physical activity

8. Trying out mindfulness and other meditation practices
