darkness while its bright

Waking up in darkness

How can it still be night when the clock reads morning?

Flip on the switch but its still dim

Get the feeling this shadow comes from within

Nothing seems bright

Though it feels like night

I can't go to sleep!

Sleeping allows me to wait and hope this feeling fades

But I must find something to wash away these clouds of grey

I can't stay here

You can't stay here

It hurts just to move

You feel like you'd rather just sit there

And wait

Hoping it will pass

But you must search through the dark room that that occupies your mind

I know this is true cuz it occupies mine

Too

You can't stay there

I can't stay here

Maybe the more that I move

I'll start to feel better

I hope I'll feel better soon

But first I must find the strength to leave this room

About the Creator

Joshua Montes

I started writing a few years ago to curb my emotions. I used to be an angry person that would break things and punch walls. I found writing to be a productive way to deal and express my emotions. Short stories and poems are what I love
