Omar's Diary to 22nd September 2019
As some of you may already be aware, I have been slightly concerned about a slippage in the standards here at Omar Towers. The catalyst for this appears to have been the invasion of trade during the month of August.

The normal Saturday rhythms here at Omar Towers were interrupted when the post was forced through the letter box and clunked on to the floor of the baronial hall.

I am quite certain people have asked themselves from time to time about what if animals could talk. Seriously, suppose for one second animals gained the ability to speak. What would they tell us? How would we respond? The conversations about humankind and animals would be astounding. The pluses would be people would have a better understanding of their pets and the lives of their pets.

One can quite easily summarise the events here at Omar Towers during August in two words: UPHEAVAL & CHANGE Change? It isn't what it used to be.

It does not feel very much like summer currently as there have been heavy rains and strong winds attacking the windows of Omar Towers that are forecast to continue for the rest of today. It feels like the encroachment of Autumn into Summer. A good day for remaining indoors and sorting things out.

Today, Sunday 28 July, 2019, marked the end of the so called heatwave that has been enervating my Servants, Mitzi and myself.

At last, the current punishingly oppressive heat and humidity have ended this evening, Friday 19 July, with the arrival much cooler air and heavy rain. That is until the next hot spell forecast for the middle of next week.

Being a keen observer of what servants refer to as ‘the media’ I am acutely aware that there are two members of their species applying for the role of ‘Servant to Larry the Downing Street Feline’.

Last weekend Man Servant bought a copy of The Economist. This was indeed a rare treat for both of us, as we both take an interest in the world beyond the New Forest.

Pigeons. The city vermin that nobody could catch. Originally, likening human behaviour to pigeons was similar to being a 'chicken' or a 'scaredy cat'. However, over the years, pigeons have evolved from long distance prey to bold attacker in a Darwin like journey second to none. Here, we will look at how pigeons have become one of the boldest animals in the kingdom today.

This last week has not been the best of weeks here at my official residence, Omar Towers. In the wake of my photograph appearing in The New European, along with a short ‘bio’, I believe that is the correct journalistic term, there have been no requests for me to make any guest appearances. Not even a booking to open a supermarket, or new pet shop. I can only assume as increasing numbers of servants’ shop online nowadays that these events are becoming rarer with every click of the mouse on the ‘basket’ icon.
