So, it's that time of year again.

You know the one. The holidays are in sight, the year is all but over and keeping your focus on anything halfway important is almost impossible.

With some much going on in the month of December it's only natural for your motivation and drive to take a hit.

But as 'natural' as this may be that doesn't make it any less confusing or worrying. I mean, you've been putting in some serious work for the past eleven months, you've been dedicated, disciplined and fixated on achieving your goals, so how come there is a drop in inspiration now? Just as you were gearing up to finish the year strong.

It's enough to make you go crazy.

But there is no need for despair because there are ways to kick-start your motivation again and keep yourself moving forward towards that life of your dreams.

Repetition is the key to success, but it can become so boring.

They say that turning up every day, putting in the work and never giving up is the only way to succeed.

Repetition, repetition, repetition.

And while this formula is definitely the most effective way to achieve all of those goals that you've set for yourself, there is no denying that it can get a tad boring at times which can make it very difficult to stay focused and to stay hungry for success.

So, what can you do to keep things interesting and keep your motivation at a high level?

"All roads lead to Rome" - Proverb

Yes, repetition may be the way to improve your skills, build confidence and create good habits, all of which are key in your success, but there is nothing saying that it has to be a repetition of the exact same task or activity each and every single day.

The famous proverb mentioned above - "All roads lead to Rome" - is an idiom which basically means there is more than one way to reach your targets.

So, should you find yourself becoming drained from doing the same thing day in and day out and struggling to stay motivated, even though deep down you know that it will all be worth it in the end, don't be afraid to try a new approach.

For example;

Say your goal is to become as fit and as healthy as you could possibly be. Your plan is to hit the gym 4-5 times per week and keep your diet on point. But after six months of following the same routines and sticking to the same meal plans, it can start to wear you down. The monotony can become overwhelming and enough to make you quit.

But, as I'm sure you already know, hitting the gym and sticking to a boring diet is not the only way to get fit and healthy.

No, there are many ways to get into the shape of your life. You could take up walking, running, swimming, there are a plethora of sports that will increase your fitness and make you stronger, both physically and mentally - not darts though, stay away from darts if you want to get trim.

And as for sticking to a boring diet, you just wouldn't do it. Instead of eating mundane meals all the time you'd look to make them more exciting, adding various spices, seasonings and flavours while at the same time sticking to a healthy combination of proteins, fats, carbs, vitamins and minerals.

So, if it's possible to obtain the same results via different methods when it comes to your health and fitness then it's also possible to apply the same methods whilst striving to achieve your goals in other areas of your life.

Don't be afraid to try new techniques as you work towards your goals.

Chasing your dreams is never easy, if it was everyone would be a millionaire, living in fancy houses, driving flash cars and never having to do any work.

The road to success is tough, it rarely travels in a straight line, there are ups, downs, twists, turns and loop-de-loops thrown into the mix, so keeping your drive and motivation at a high level is no easy feat. It can all get very disheartening at times.

But, one way to counteract these feelings of frustration and deflation is to keep mixing things up, trying new processes and keeping your interest alive.

There is nothing like learning a new skill, adding an additional tool to your arsenal to be used as you propel yourself ever closer to achieving your dreams.

Never be afraid to change up your approach and follow an alternative route to your success.

"Innovation is the ability to see change as an opportunity - not a threat." - Steve Jobs
