Often, when we think about how to be successful, we focus on everything we need. We need to work harder, we need to eat better, we need to complete this or that project. We need to improve in school. We need more consistency. We need to be more productive.

But sometimes, when we focus too much on the things we need to do, we forget about the things we need to give up. Over time, we develop a mindset or habits that prevent us from achieving our goals, and if we never give them up, they keep stopping us, no matter how hard we try.

So it is important to consider what parts of your life you need to give up, the parts of your life that you need to focus on, so that you can work on your goals and desires. Could find a place for

Let's take a look at some of the key things you may need to give up to reach your full potential and see what kind of success you know you deserve.

1. Give up low standards.

As Tony Robbins wrote in his book Awaken the Giant Within,

"Whenever you sincerely want to make a change, you must first raise your standards."

In other words, one of the reasons you don't see improvement in your life is because you have accepted less than you deserve.

If you want to be successful, you have to be more discriminating with the help you render toward other people. Refuse to let things stay where you are not happy. Once you raise your standards, you will be forced to take action to change things. Low quality will hold you back forever if you allow them.

2. Stop making excuses.

You may have heard it many times before. But what does it really look like? What does it mean to give up excuses?

When you stop making excuses, you realize that everything you do in life is in your hands. Simply stating why you weren't able to do something will not change the fact that you didn't.

Overcome your mistakes, accept responsibility, and accept that you are the one who can make your success possible.

As the American artist Bruce Noman put it,

"If you really want to do it, you do it. There is no excuse."

3. Give up an unhealthy lifestyle.

Success can mean different things to different people, but if you don't take care of your body, you will have a hard time reaching your full potential.

Even if your focus is on intellectual success, you still need to make sure you take care of your body. Your brain and body are deeply connected, and your brain grows with exercise and healthy nutrients. When you nurture and exercise your body, you help improve your emotional state and your ability to think.

4. Quit playing small.

Goethe wrote:

"The dangers of life are endless, and so is safety."

If you want to succeed, you have to give up the little game.

Successful people are in control of almost every single situation. They don't wait on the sidelines to see how things go. They are at the forefront of creating new paths and movements. They do not wait for permission, they give permission.

Also, people who take small risks are probably worse off than failing: never giving themselves a chance.5.

5. Stop living in the past.

A lot of people have difficult pasts that re-emerge in their minds to play again, but you have to let go of your past to a certain extent. Thinking too much about the past prevents you from living in the present and giving up everything in the moment.

Success comes when you focus on moving forward, do your best to stay in the present, and don't let your past get behind you.

In the words of Henry David Thoreau:

"You have to stay in the moment, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in every moment. Fools stand on the edge of their island and look at other lands. There is no land other than that. There is no other life.

6. Stop saying yes to everything.

When you say yes to everything, you are not really saying yes to yourself.

Succeeding at life means eliminating everything that does not support your values and goals.

Consider: What do you really want in life? What do you value? Relationships, or careers? Health or celebration? Where are your limits What takes precedence?

Then, whenever you are offered something new, ask yourself: Does this new thing support my goals, or is it just taking time out of the things I really value?

When you say yes to everything and constantly add it to your plate, you have a lot of work to do and not enough time or energy to complete them. Say yes to just a few things so you can really spend time and energy completing them to a high standard.

7. Give up your need to be liked.

Successful people are in control of almost every single situation. They know that not everyone likes them, and that's fine. You will never make everyone happy. At a certain point, you have to ask yourself if you need to please everyone or self-esteem.

Also, being polite is a surefire way to make sure nobody thinks you're real. Other people are naturally attracted to people who are honest. As Anis de la Fresenge put it,

"Being afraid of being disliked is the best way to be loved."

8. Give up the expectation of justice.

Life is not fair. Which you may have heard before, but it can be much easier to accept.

Understand that just because you are employed, just because you are smart or talented or disciplined, does not mean that the universe or God or your boss is you. Is indebted to No one owes you anything.

Once you accept it, the only way to do it is to continue and do your best.

There is nothing that can stop you from achieving success.

9. Don't give up

Your superpower is your uniqueness. It can make you feel isolated or uncertain because no one else is like you, but that's what makes you great. That's the decent thing to do, and it should end there.

Judy Garland once said,

"Always be your own first-class version, not someone else's second-class version."

10. Stop complaining.

A very successful assassin is complaining.

Every time you see yourself complaining about your situation, stop and take a step to change things, it doesn't have to be big. When you're in motion, you don't have time to think about how horrible everything is going to be, you just have to focus on moving forward. The more time you spend complaining, the less time you will have to move towards your goals, and the longer you will have to wait. The more you focus on the negative, the more negative you will bring into your life.
