The silver lining

Finding the good in a world of bad

Everyone stop what you’re doing. Just stop right now. Put it down, hang it up, have a seat and stop. Unless you’re driving then keep going and stop reading stories until you’re parked.

This here is a baby duck in a floatie. He doesn’t have a political message, He’s not protesting anything, he’s not trying to save you money on your car insurance and he doesn’t care how many people you filled out on the census. He is simply a baby duck, in a floatie. I share him here because he’s cute. Simple as that. Look at him. Focus on his cuteness. Breathe in cute ducky breathe out stressful stuff. Breathe in cute ducky breathe out stressful stuff. Do that a few times. Now don’t you feel better?

The ducky in a floatie is here to make you feel better. Some will say we don’t deserve animals and I believe that’s true. They’re selfless they love and they give to us with everything they got.

Nowadays we hear how the human species has gone to shit everything is bad there’s riots there’s killing there’s oppression there’s people who won’t wear masks and refuse to social distance. All of that is true as well.

The thing is that ducky didn’t put himself in a floatie. He didn’t take his own pic and he didn’t meme himself. A person did that. A person put a baby ducky in a floatie, took a picture and made a meme with the hopes of making your day a little brighter. Kudos to you baby ducky floatie person.

I bring this up because there are still baby ducky floaty people in the world. We need to find them. We need to find the people that want to make your day better and your life easier and those are who we listen to. Voices need to be heard absolutely but let’s all use them to discuss how we make positive changes not just what’s wrong.

Look around you and see the magnificence of the earth. Get up early watch the sun rise, head to the water to watch it set, smell the flowers, smile at people when you pass them. Show a picture of a baby ducky in a floatie to someone who needs to see it.

This month alone there are four events happening in the sky: June 5 will be a lunar eclipse, June 8th is the conjunction of the moon Jupiter and Saturn, June 20 is summer solstice, June 21 is annular solar eclipse @astrogeekz on Instagram wanted you to know that. People find the rarities of nature’s dreams post it for us so we find cool stuff.

Others use social media to make their voice heard and it’s a wonderful platform to do that but we also need a good mix of cool stuff and of course baby ducks in floaties. This is how we as a people stay balanced. We need a mix of good and bad.

We need opinions from everyone and we need to accept they’re not all going to match. We need people who speak out and the rest of us need to hear it but not just hear it actually listen. Listen analyze form an opinion and communicate it peacefully.

I’m not saying life is ever going to be sunshine and rainbows for everyone but what if we just accepted that some poeple’s bad are other people’s good and vice versa? We can’t appreciate the good without the bad and we don’t know what’s bad without the good.

Tomorrow start with being thankful you woke up. Count your blessings and decide what kind of day you’ll have (a good one at least if not great, fantastic or better) and then go have that day. If you feel the day is not going to your liking then pull out the baby ducky in a floatie.

Be patient, be observant, be kind it all goes s long way
