The Oasis Journey

Once upon a time, in a small village nestled amidst lush green hills, there lived a young girl named Drema, the youngest daughter to Mr and Mrs Edward Patrick . She was a stunning beauty, had the sweetest smile and held no grudges even when offended but it was her optimistic spirit and her unwavering belief in the power of hope that endeared her to all . She was always spreading joy and words of encouragement to those around her, even in the face of adversity.

Mr and Mrs Patrick were farmers, who owned a small cottage situated on a two-acre piece of land where they cultivated and raised livestock ,especially Daisy, the cow whom they gave to Drema when she was old enough to assist on the farm. Here, they lived with there four lovely daughters: Emily, Sophia, Margaret and Drema.

One day, a severe drought struck the village, leaving the land barren and the people desperate for water. Crops withered, and the once-vibrant community began to lose hope. Mr Patrick and the other farmers were worried and sought out new ways to manage their limited resources believing that the rains would be in soon. .Unfortunately the drought lasted much longer than expected. Meetings were held continuously to discuss measures on survival. Some families sold their properties ,farmlands and livestock and moved to neighbouring villages to prevent starvation.Others suggested that volunteers be sent to search for help or betterstill water .Volunteers were chosen and prepared for the journey. However Drema also volunteered but was turned down because of her size. As the scouts set forth for help, fear and despair clouded the hearts of the villagers as they wondered how they would survive the harsh conditions if they failed.

Amidst the gloom, Drema refused to give in to despair. She believed that hope could work miracles, and she was determined to prove it to her fellow villagers. With a glimmer of hope in her eyes, she set out on a mission to find a solution to their water crisis,taking along with her:a satchel, a small bottle of water, a matchbox and Daisy her companion.

Drema and Daisy, the cow embarked on a long and arduous journey, traversing treacherous terrain and facing numerous challenges such as Sun burns, intense thirst, swollen feet, blistered lips as well as Hunger along the way. Back in the village, Drema's parents were desperately searching for her. Emily and Margaret had walked all over the village asking after Drema, Sophia also visited all her favorite hideouts with Daisy for this was not first time Dream and her cow had dropped off the grid. But this time no one knew where she was. Mrs Patrick has cried her eyes sore, imagining the worst. All night she couldn't sleep, a search party headed by Drema's father was sent to look for her but the dryness of the land and rationing of water made the search quite ineffective and cut short. The Patrick's,however had to give up hope of ever finding Drema and tried to carryon with life expecting that the Scouts would brings in a new wave of hope and happiness when the water supply solution was found.

On the other hand, the scouts made their way towards seeking out help as well but the trials of the journey left some sick, broken and disheartened. Eventually all of them went their separate ways refusing to go back to their families due to the fact that they may be seen as failures.

Drema and Daisy the cow, encountered three wise old sages in a temple.After listening to her story, the sages catered to their needs and shared their wisdom and various tales of overcoming adversity. These encounters fueled her determination, and she continued her quest with renewed hope.

Finally, after weeks of searching,they stumbled upon a hidden oasis nestled deep in the heart of a secluded forest. It was a breathtaking sight, with crystal-clear waters shimmering under the warm sunlight. Drema was overjoyed. She and Daisy splashed around playfully in the water, taking long drinks as well as bathing. Finally she had found the solution to her village's plight but how does she get the water to the village which is quite faraway. After pondering on this for a while, Drema accompanied by a much sated Daisy sought out the three wise sages again. She needed their ideas on innovative ways to channel water back to her village.

With her new-found wisdom, Drema and Daisy rushed back to her village to gather the people around.At first, they mistook her for a trader who wanted to sell her cow but looking closely, her father recognized his little girl, Drema. He was so overjoyed that he lifted her up and ran with her all the way home, calling on his wife .Drema's family were grateful that she was well and alive.

People and livestocks were falling ill and dying. The whole village looked gloomy , devasted and downcasted. Drema saw the urgency and asked her father to gather the people at the Church Hall for an Emergency meeting. Here she shared stories of her journey, her meeting with sages and her discovery .She urged them to have faith. The villagers, inspired by Drema's unwavering optimism, rallied together and strategize on the plan to bring water from the oasis to their village.

Through sheer determination and the power of hope, the villagers dug trenches and constructed an intricate network of channels to transport the water. Day and night, they worked tirelessly, including Drema, driven by their belief that a better future was within reach.Word was sent to other neighboring villages for help to dig these trenches. Those who had left returned and others migrated to see the innovation of Irrigation brought about by the courage of a little girl.

Days passed, and finally, water flowed into the village. The barren land began to flourish once again, and the spirits of the people soared. The village blossomed into a thriving community, thanks to Drema and her cow's unwavering courage and the collective efforts of its inhabitants.

Drema's story soon became legendary and was passed down through generations, reminding people that even in the darkest times, hope can guide us towards a brighter future. Her tale inspired countless others to hold onto hope, to believe in their dreams, and to never lose faith in the face of adversity.
