The "INTELLECTUAL" Mindset

How to possess an Intellectual mindset?

By Ashar KhanPublished 2 years ago 2 min read

Nowadays, the prime thing everyone wants is to earn money and have a high-paying salary, which in some cases is good to look over financial matters but when it comes to the mindset of people, no money can change that!!. If we look back a couple of years, we get to see some of the most "Intellectual" minds like Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah ; The most intelligent yet powerful leader who changed the thinking of the world by his wisdom and the intellect he conducts. The knowledge, the personality, his judgement, his existence was a great example for each one of us. According to Google, the term "INTELLECTUAL" means "A person possessing highly developed intellect". Let me simplify this, our actions our way of living our decision-making power depends on what mindset we acquire. Different thinking makes you "standout" in front of the world, we are busy in worldly matters that we often neglect the fact that our MIND is the real deal and this is the only thing that can earn us a healthy, intellectual and wealthy life. Albert Camus said : "An intellectual is someone whose mind watches itself." To be intellectual, the main thing is to understand self-worth and be ready to challenge perspective based on the understanding of worldly and experiential knowledge. But, what does it mean to be an intellectual? What are the factors determining an intellectual mindset? Is it to be creative? Is it the vocabulary we possess?

Intellectuals are highly knowledgeable, striving to learn, curious, and articulate their being well. An Intellectual can always look to the other side of the tunnel meaning that they consider alternatives to each and every matter, this is how intellectuals think. It's how we describe that intellect is "The willingness to explain and stand upon new ideas." The main factor that makes a person intellectual is the use of knowledge at proper place. It's a willing to be constantly being exposed to information. Then the use and formulation of conclusions from that information depends on intellectual. Original opinions, deep thinking is the key factor for developing an intellect mindset. Learning agility is also a great quality "Intellectuals" acquire. The unpuzzling of difficult situations, decision-making in almost impossible situation, considering the most unfitting ideas and the ability to innovate is what differentiates "INTELLECTUAL MINDSET". Intellectual curiosity is also one the most important factor that determines how well-conduct and informed we are. Our minds should not be labelled as "FIXED" rather it should be an example for our surrounding and should be in constant growth mode. This can be achieved by taking control of the information we consume, our minds are made to be widened with the passing of every minute. Some people lose worth not because they are not highly-paid or at low designation, it's because they neglect each and every ounce of their Self-worth which is the essential chapter to continue their life. I read a quote of Dan Brown an American author, stating that "Small minds have always lashed out at what they don't understand." Make yourself worth, conduct a highly mannered life with unique thoughts, genuine ideas and the ability to express the information you hold. Be a man that has both, the potential to grow and the power to make people grow.
