In this blog you are going to get a summary of the book, “The Compound Effect”. This author of this book is Darren Hardy, also the Author of The Automatic Millionaire. It’s a phenomenal book on how little things can lead to big repercussions, if you give them enough time. On how to build habit, how to get rid of the bad habit in your life. The book is amazing.

Let’s see what the book is all about and then let’s talk about how you can apply techniques of this in your life. Let get started. If you were given choices between take three million dollars and one penny which doubles everyday what would you chose. On the surface the choice is quite easy. After all we are millions with a single penny, but wait things get little more complex when you dig deeper. Imagine you do take the three million and your friend take the penny, fatter 5 days you have three million dollar and your friend has only 16 cents and you probably feel good about your choice. By day 10 your friend have 5 dollars an 12 cents and you have three million. By day 20 your friend will have 5,000 dollar which seems nothing compare to your 3 million, but then the magic of company effect kicks in. an day day 31, you will still have your three million dollars, but your friend will have more than 10 million dollar. Thirty one days later consistency reward your friend with more than times more money than you. This the clear example of how compound effect works. If you make small, god choices, it will help you develop good habits. And if you are consistent you’ll see massive result in the long run. And on the other hand, a bunch of bad choices can lead to bad habit that result in the significant problems. But if things are so simple, how come everyone is not taking advantage of it and living famous lives full of health and happiness?

Let’s see these are some of the common hurdles.

1. There should be consistency for getting your compound effect.

2. Hard work is required throughout this time period.

3. Lack of setting SMART goals or no quick fixes.

This book guide you how you can make good and right choice by following these steps

1. Identify and understand where you are now and where you want to. What you want for yourself in future, in other words how you printer yourself in future?

2. Be aware of your bad choices. Learn from your previous mistakes and learn what lesson was in that mistakes.

3. Thebe next step is to track you choices.

4. Be consistent in your task and get rid of your bad habits by practicing the new good and health habits.

5. Do cue analysis and know your triggers.

6. Make gratitude a daily habit ad appreciate your on achier=vying small milestones towards your goal.

Compound effect and changing your habits

1. Identify your three best habits such as those that spot your most important goal. Also identify your three most bad habits that take you away from your most important goal.

2. Identify three new habits that you want to develop. Practice these habits for 20 minutes daily.

3. In the next step you should find your core motivation that helps you to be consistent toward the journey of you ultimate goal.

4. Follow these step until you reach your ultimate goal.

I will rate 9/10 to this book. Hardy wrote this book in an incredible book. As this book is a kind of self-help book and mostly self-help books are boring and you cannot continue to read these types of book. But THE COMPOUND EFFECT is a very good book, you will not get bored while reading this book. Highly Recommended!!!
