1. Start reading short stories (set small goals)
If you want to be good reader without getting bored then start from the short stories. Short stories are perfect for quick read. Short stories are helpful when you have little time to enjoy and avoid the negative circumstance. Set small but SMART goals.
2. Start reading your favorite genre or fiction short stories
My favorite genre of books is fiction, science fiction, horror, poetry and self-help because reading book like ‘’the secret’ makes me believe in the law of attraction and how it will benefits a person to achieve happiness, health and mental wellbeing. Reading fiction or popular fiction can helps you to be good reader. It will increase your reading stamina. For beginners I will suggest to read fiction books, fiction short stories to develop reading habits.
3. Never start from classic novels of books
If you are a beginner, than you must not start reading classic novels at the initial level of your book reading journey. You will get bore easily.
4. Set time for book reading
Set specific time for reading like 20 minutes in the morning and 20 minutes before going to bed. According to researches if you want to develop a habit practice it for 20 minutes in the morning and before sleeping for 20 days.
5. Read for 10 minutes or 1 paragraph and increase it consistently on daily basis
Consistency is very important if you want to be reader. Read at least for 10 minutes on daily basis or read one paragraph from your favorite genre every day. Be consistent and gradually increase one paragraph to two…three….. Four and to one page a day.
6. Read books that creates interest
Reading only one book all day can be boring. But if you talk about fiction related books than it can be interesting. So read book that develop interest and suspense. Read books of different genre to develop and maintain your interest. Novels make us curious which leads to reading all day. And by reading a different kind of books you will become better in different areas and that is a good thing.
7. Always carry a Book
Always carry a book with you whenever you go out. It helps to generate a prompt which reminds you of reading book. Try to keep it on your books table, Bed, or anywhere, where books are visible or you can see the books many times a day and remind you of reading it.
