The C.V of satan

Satan knows how to enchant us with soothing melodies that strike the chords of our hearts intensely. Contrary to what many have charismatically proposed and asserted in a bid to discredit satans perceived prowess in devising mischief, he is not exactly ignorant neither is he illiterate. He is neither a novice or fledgling who is shabbily attempting to distinguish himself in the arena of deception.

Apostle John depicts him in his apocalyptic piece in Revelations 12:9 as the old serpent who deceives the world. Where old is not synonymous to weakness or debilitation. The greek word being expressed as old here is archaios(ar-khah'-yos) which means that which has been from the beginning, original, primal or old ancient. This being unlike many old and aged prone to dementia is not a forgetful being.

He is armed with arsenals that have existed from the inception of time. His stock of demonic divisive weaponry only gets better, sharper and more precise with the passing of time. Apostle Peter in his epistemology accredits him as a roaring lion who daily and continuously without fail or exhaustion seeks who he may unleash his venom of deception on(1 Peter 5:8).You would have realized by now he is not talking about some feeble inactive lion. Lions are generally regarded as Kings in their own right. This being regards himself as some sort of king to whom all must succumb to.

Satan fancies it when people regard him as useless and toothless especially when they make those claims out of a desire to disregard anything divine or supernatural. He knows his time is short. Ever seen a man who knows he has a short time to meet a target ? Then you would understand the intensity and alacrity satan exerts on himself . That is the only way he knows to gain ample grounds on the blind side of men. In tactical warfare, ignorance of your opponent is key to being overpowered and overthrown.

His age long ability as one able to disguise himself as an angel of light is one that grounds his existence in the lives of many. Its this same ability he bequeaths to his own servants who parade themselves in various spheres of human existence. Be it in the market place, the media space, the financial sphere, on our pulpits etc. Ultimately, the Adam and Eve debacle in the garden of Eden solidifies the resumé of this being. An entire generation usurped by the works of a being to the extent that even today many are still in some kind of bondage by his works.

All this being said, it is crystal clear that man as a mortal, transient, fallible creature has no authority in him/herself to go toe to toe with this old serpent called Satan. It will only be to the detriment of man to assume that this enemy has no reason to prowl and roar like he constantly does. We fall into the abyss of satans desire the moment we begin take for granted his prowess as a non retiring deceiver.

Is there truly any hope of overcoming this old serpent ? There sure is! Paul succinctly points to it this way ;Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places(Ephesians 6:10-12). The devil may have a rich C.V but what the believer must be confident in is that victory was won through the blood of Christ even before the war began. As long as we choose to stand strong in His armor we know we will overcome the devils schemes at every turn.
