The Age Of The Apostles

My vocation, my pulpit

Ministry can not and must not only be within the four Walls of the church. To consider that as the blue print of ministry is to cast enormous doubt on Gods intended purpose for sending His son to die a shameful death.

We are saved to take dominion and to proclaim the salvation narrative in whatever field of endeavor we find ourselves in.

Breaking away from the lie that allows us to pivot ministry within the walls of the church can appear very disruptive to the norm but that then will perfectly fit into the framework of what God intended for the gospel to be preached to every nation, tribe and tongue. Which will include every profession, vocation, career and ambition.

The word Apostle is from the Greek word apostollos which means a messenger. One who speaks accurately on behalf of another. It would appear to me that, the meaning of the word apostle/apostolos in a contemporary setting seems to be misapplied in some sense particularly when it comes to the context in which it’s applied to individuals. In many cases we assume it to imply some great almighty, most supernaturally endowed individual who carries some unusual ability beyond human reach or exposure . I would understand why for some, using it as a title or prefix to their names would mean some sort of demarcation from ordinary people.

But we must understand that the way we have come to perceive ministerial titles and what have you is totally at variance with how Christians of old perceived it. Christians in the days of Jesus, first centurury believers and Christians where more concerned about their ministerial work on the ground than what you prefixed their name with. In fact this was a practice picked up many more centuries after. They were more drawn to the duties of their calling than what they were called. And so an apostle then was not merely a title but a vivid description of what an individual represented as far as the gospel and great commission was concerned.

It doesn’t take a Professor in quantum physics to deduce that we all as believers are messengers of some sort, representing the interest of the I AM . Be an apostle in your own field of influence and expertise. Allow the professional geography in which God has positioned and domiciled you in become your daily pulpit, don’t just wait for the next Sunday! This commission and faith bequeathed to us is not an only Sunday’s affair. It’s an everyday affair. Two or three hours a week of beautiful and soothing church meetings is not how we take kingdoms.

We don’t man the mountains of influence necessarily by being church addicts though that in itself is not necessarily wrong. The populace of the unreached is out there in the figurative wild of the economies of the world . That is where your mantle is needed most. That is where your impact can be felt most tangibly. Become an apostle of your industry who speaks, administrates and initiates with Gods purposes at the first fore front. Become that lawyer, doctor, engineer, artiste etc who represents the interest of that which is holy, acceptable and godly. Be the one who draws your kind if possible to the saving knowledge of Christ Jesus.

Allow the passion that drove you into your respective vocation equally become a conduit through which the purposes of God is advanced.

Nobody must be left out in the great commission. All and sundry must go forth confidently lifting the name of Christ whether by word or deed or whichever way possible.

This is the way 💪🏻✊🏾❤️
