Would You Like Me to Help You?
I pulled up at the diesel pump at the local service station. A woman in a small white car was getting out next to me. She was a frail elderly lady. Moving slowly, I figured it was arthritis or joint pain. She seemed unsure and nervous.

A Recalled Word
Imagine sitting down to write and being unable to. Not because you have writer’s block from not knowing what you want to write about, but because you forgot a word's definition, therefore, you were unable to recall the proper word you needed. So you spend hours looking in a thesaurus or dictionary, hoping the word you want will pop out to you. While causing you to struggle for hours, even days, on just a few sentences, just a couple of paragraphs. Sometimes, unable to find the words, you’ll break down and ask your teenager to help you, fully ashamed that they elude you. Mortified more when they inform you it’s all a misspelling on your part.

Teach for a reason; learn for many.. Runner-Up in Small Win Challenge.
I can't begin to tell you how much I love animals. Pets in general. I don't ever see myself living without one. Each and every day, our little furry friends provide more than an abundance of joy for their human counterparts.

In the Red
It started as a lovely day. I woke up on a weekend that felt like it would never end (thank you, Easter), did a little Duolingo and read over some of my emails. Nothing seemed too important, so I headed over to look over some of that media that they call social. There were messages on Instagram and Facebook (again, nothing too special), and then I went over to feel the heat from Reddit.

Everyday Victory
Minor victories are easy to overlook, especially when everyone around you insists you are making a mistake. I was twenty years old, a junior in college majoring in communications, and deeply lonely. My parents did not approve of my boyfriend, Matthew. To them, he was just a poor guy, seven years older than me, already a teen parent, unemployed, and raised in poverty. But I fought for him. I chose to stay.

Your Supportive Comment Is My Small Win
I know that I am virtually invisible to the judges and moderators, but they are not the ones who give me a reason to write and create. They provide me with an excellent platform to share my creations, but that is where it stops.

The Hidden Side Hustle That Made Cathlin Financially Free
For most people who passed Cathlin on the street, she looked like someone living an ordinary life. She was 32, worked a standard office job, and lived in a modest apartment on the third floor of an aging building. Every weekday morning she woke up at 6:30, made a cup of cheap instant coffee, and rushed out the door to catch the crowded bus to work.

Lesson 2: Not Everyone Will Understand You, and That’s Very Okay!
Tried explaining yourself over and over, hoping to be understood only to walk away feeling invisible, hurt and even bitter? That moment when your words don’t land at the exact place you want them to and you start questioning if it’s them or if it’s you.
