Start without Motivation
Motivation, often seen as the spark that ignites productivity and success, is a desirable state of mind. It fuels our ambitions and propels us toward our goals. However, relying solely on motivation to initiate action can be a flawed approach. In many cases, waiting for motivation to strike can lead to stagnation, missed opportunities, and unfulfilled dreams. This article will explore why waiting for motivation to start is not the most effective strategy and provide compelling reasons to take action regardless of motivation. Motivation as an Unreliable Emotion: Motivation is an emotion that can be fleeting, inconsistent, and unpredictable. It often comes in bursts, leaving us feeling invincible and ready to conquer the world. However, these periods of heightened motivation are not sustainable over the long term. Relying solely on motivation can result in a cycle of starting and stopping, leaving projects unfinished and goals unaccomplished. By waiting for motivation, we give it the power to dictate our actions, making us passive participants in our own lives. The Power of Momentum: Action, on the other hand, creates momentum. Taking the first step, no matter how small, sets a chain of events in motion. Once we start, the initial inertia is overcome, and it becomes easier to maintain our progress. Action breeds action, and progress fuels motivation. By taking consistent action, even when motivation is lacking, we build momentum that propels us forward. This momentum becomes a driving force in achieving our goals and aspirations. Cultivating Discipline and Commitment: Waiting for motivation can foster a mindset of dependency. It conditions us to rely on external factors to dictate our actions, leaving us vulnerable to inaction when motivation wanes. In contrast, taking action despite a lack of motivation cultivates discipline and commitment. It teaches us to rely on internal drive rather than fleeting emotions. By committing to a course of action and consistently following through, we develop a sense of responsibility and resilience. Discipline becomes a guiding principle that helps us persevere through challenging times, even when motivation is absent.

A Look Into The Unknown
What is retirement and how do you define it? Does it mean that you cannot work in the strictest sense of terms? Most people in the world, they take a job out high school, college, graduate school, trade school, etc., and attempt to stick to it for a lifetime. Once they reach their retirement age, they retire and live the rest of their life. I grew up seeing troves of people at my family’s businesses and they all had the same or similar story when it came to the generalization of working then retirement, usually at the age of 65+. I say, good for them. If they could not see the light of day, and that there was more to life than keeping a job until the point their mobility was such that they couldn’t physically enjoy life, then good for them. I think that light at the end of the tunnel will come quick and swift for them. If on the other hand, someone has the capability to break out of the lifetime working trance, they might just have a chance at seeing what life has to offer before it is swiftly out of reach.
