Beneath the Moonlight
The silver orb hung silently in the inky night sky, bathing the earth below in its cool glow. As you strolled along the winding path through the forest, memories of that fateful night came flooding back. The crickets chirped their familiar melody while fireflies danced and flickered, lighting your way. But their beauty was lost on you, for your mind had wandered far into the past. You remembered her hand in yours, soft and warm, as you walked this very trail. Her laughter had sounded like music and her eyes had sparkled like the stars above. Beneath the light of the moon, you had shared your first kiss and dreamed of a future filled with love and promise. Yet now as you gazed up at that same celestial body, you realized with bittersweet sorrow that while the moon remains, love is fleeting. Its light continues to shine down from above, a silent witness to that which once was but will never be again. The moon remembers that night, even if you wish you could forget.
