SCISSOR ME TIME

Depending on your craft whether it be sewing, knitting, or crocheting scissors are always needed.

When we are crafting we use several different tools. Scissors being the main one. Without the scissors you are not able to cut out the pattern. Also, when sewing you need to use scissors to cut thread.

Types of scissors are different. I'd like to use a type of scissors called Pinking shears. Which makes a little zigzag edge when you're cutting the pattern and material.

My favorite craft is crochet I love to crochet. And you would not think that with crochet you would need scissors, but yet you do because you must cut your yarn. Whether you're cutting it to end a particular stitch, or you're cutting it to add more yarn to your row when you run out. Also with crochet you need to know the various types of stitches.

The basic stitch is the chain stitch. Which involves you just making a little loop around your finger. You continue to do that until you get the chain. As long as it's needed or tell you achieve your desired stitches. Another stitch is the single crochet stitch. Which is when you take your crochet hook and you put it in the loop of the chain. Wrap the yarn around the hook and then pull it through both stitches. Those are the two simplest stitches in crochet to make. There are several more complicated stitches. Which are double crochet, 1/2 double crochet, a treble crochet. There is also a popcorn stitch, a crocodile stitch, a shell stitch, a ripple stitch. And it goes on and on and on. The more advanced your level, the more stitches you'll be able to do and create a more complicated pattern.

I could spend hours telling you how to crochet, from all the different stitches and how to make them. When I crochet or knit it calms me down. Because I have to concentrate on my pattern or counting stiches. I don’t have time to think of anything else except for what I am doing.

Whether you're crocheting, knitting, or sewing. You need scissors to assist you in your craft making. Scissors are used for cutting strings that tie balloons. They are used for making paper crafts. From the time we are two years old, we are taught how to use scissors, they even designed safety scissors specifically for young children to use, which only cut paper and not their delicate skin. When I was growing up, those things were not available.

There are many, many uses for scissors, and the more expensive the scissors you choose the better quality and sharpness you have. In that particular pair of scissors. Let us not forget the barbers and the beauticians who use scissors as well in their profession, scissors are used to cut hair. Scissors are used to trim beards and mustaches. There are so many different uses for a pair of scissors today. To describe them all would take a very long time.

I can't even imagine where we would be today. Without the scissors, what of valuable invention. We should be ever so thankful to the person who came up with this wonderful idea. Can you imagine trying to cut a piece of paper just by folding it in half and tearing it and it comes out uneven and miss shaped when your trying to pull it on a straight line it just doesn't work. Not only do I use scissors for my craft, I use scissors on my job. All day long so many times I have to cut paper. I have special scissors just to cut paper because I don't want to use my sewing scissors or my crafting scissors to cut paper it makes them dull.

Nor would I want to use my hair scissors to cut paper, because then I wouldn't have the sharpness I would need to cut hair. And I also work on here. My tools of the trade are my scissors. I use them. Many, many times over. In a day, week, or month. I can't imagine. even How I would get along without them.

Trying to break yarn. Is not as easy. Trying. To break yarn with your hands is the easy fix. Your yarn is stronger than think. Can you imagine trying to cut a jump rope so your kids can play.

I love crafting it keeps me calm and makes me happy. When I am creating items i don't have time to think about other things. many people have several ways to unwind my is crocheting. Love it!
