3 Easy ways to market yourself in an online world.

Below I am going to list out three common reasons that it is important to market yourself and market yourself the right way. There is no specific instructions but this story will help put you on the right path. Getting started, staying consistent and most all marketing yourself are all items to lead you to the land of financial freedom. Can we all agree that these are indeed different times that are upon us? With all the constant changes and everything shifting to an online buy and sell format for all things including everyday items such as what most would consider the necessities. You must use that to your advantage every chance you get. Use these items to get you started and this should help guide you along. 1. MARKET YOURSELF AT ALL COSTS!

**SOCIAL MEDIA….. A lot of people including myself at times almost cringe when social media is brought up because it can be such a scary place. Like a lot of things in life there is always a upside or a more positive side to things. ALL social media platforms can and are used for all forms of personal gain (mostly financial). If you are creating content or selling stuff online and you are NOT using social media to promote yourself or the product I would highly suggest you start today which is going to likely give you the jump start that you need to get established and get yourself going and out there.

**Can I get your business card? The year is 1995 and the electrician that you looked up in the phone book comes to your home and upon arrival he hands you his business card with all of his contact and business information on it. Fast forward and its 2021 and I bump into you in a coffee shop by accident and we get to chatting about or professions or our business and you ask for my card. What happens next would seem absurd back in ’95. I raise my bracelet up and your phone scans my code, I have you scan a blank card with just a QR code or lastly I have you scan my keychains code.. WAAALAAAAA!!! All of my information and business info populates instantly right there on your phone with plenty of links to… you guessed it.. MY SOCIAL MEDIA accounts. Get a virtual business card, let it spread like wildfire! At very least do invest into some physical cards of the virtual route is not your things at this time. **Be in the right spot at the right time! Marketing yourself isn't always all just promoting whenever you can. Timing… Timing is a key technique or way to EFFECTIVELY promote yourself. I will use the recent release of the iPhone 13 as a great example. So as commercials and ads on social media and YouTube start to populate, more so brain washing you into making you think you need the latest and greatest. Many online content creators and sellers are are looking at this time as a time to strike. If you know the product is coming out you want to create content around and involving that items at that time because that's what the audience is looking for in anticipation of the iPhone being released. Not only will it draw people in but it helps educate others to make informed decisions surrounding products.

2. MARKET EFFECIENTLY.

**Be clear on what you are putting out there for the public. You don't want there to be any confusion as to what you are creating about or selling. You want people to keep coming back to you because they know that they can keep coming back to your content or your page for a true quality product that is indeed authentic.

**Is more always better or is the term “less is more” better? Either way keep this in mind when putting yourself out there. Lets take making content for YouTube for example. Would it be better for JOHN DOE to have a few categories that he reviews and makes videos about and he is DAMN good at it and has a great educational driven purpose and can provide a lot of information on those few topics. Or is it better for JOHN DOE to have ALOT of videos on ALOT of different topics that he doesn't really know much about or at least how much as he does in the last example on just a few topics that he can overload you with info on. Keep that in mind as viewers have those thoughts and develop a trust with where they are taking advice or getting information from.

**When you put out content and you happened to start hitting your stride make sure that you are keeping track of what works and what doesn't. Try different tactics and approaches and be sure to pay attention and apply that to future posts and endeavors.

3. MARKET..BUT BE AUTHENTIC!

**promote, promote and promote some more! Remember earlier when I mentioned us bumping into each other? those are the kinds of circumstances that you need to take advantage of when promoting and marketing your brand. Use every situation or event that comes up as a way to push your brand. It could be as easy as seeing someone looking at something in a store that you happen to have a article or video on and you start a conversation with that person regarding that product. For example: Consumer looking at iPhone in Best Buy and you happed to be near them a small intro or conversation starter would be “Looking at the new iPhone, wow what a device” Then you can go on with the following “Recently I was looking at them as well and I decided to do a lot of research and ended up purchasing one doing some product reviews on it and and really glad I did” This is the fun part.. You can go onto to say something along the lines of the following “If you wanted more information or to see the reviews I put on MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL or my INSTAGRAM or even the article I wrote on MEDIUM just scan my business QR CODE (INSERTS CARD OR BRACLET MADE BY POPL). Now I'm by no means saying go stalking patrons but when the opportunity presents itself to market yourself by all means take full advantage of the situation.

Part of being AUTHENTIC is creating content or selling a product that you are truly interested in. With conviction and true passion the quality tends to be a little better coming across to the consumer as they can sense a genuine feeling coming from you and your content and can tell you enjoy what your doing. Consumers can for sure tell when you are just going through the motions to produce content.

Lastly, and quite honestly the most important to me. Be real and be fair. Don’t fabricate things to give yourself an edge as with enough online research people can most likely call your bluff on things.

None of what i listed above comes with a manual, or a course to buy but it can help at least get your started and point you in the right direction. Also be mindful this is not a get rich overnight scheme so you will have to put in the work and effort but with dedication and marketing yourself effectively it wont be long until you are turning your passion into a paycheck.
