When I was 10, I broke a light bolt that my dad had asked me to replace in the bedroom; I was on a latter, he was right next to me, I am not sure why I got nervous and let the light bolt drop to his feet; dad was not the type to get mad and yell, he was the kind to carried me down while he looked for another bolt. He asked me if I wanted to try again and I said yes; I did it, I replace the bolt and cleaned the case while I was up there. Some time ago I wrote about Kintsugi, the art of the Japanese, the art of becoming independent, the art of trusting yourself to do all that needs to be done, at times with help and at times alone, but always to be done.

Contract of Unspeaking
There’s a high school photo of me floating on Facebook. A friend took it before band class as I hunched over a thick 5-subject notebook balanced on a tilted music stand. I never even noticed her taking the photo until I saw it posted online. In the comments, I played my concentration as a joke, adding a contrived philosophical statement about being a deep, dark, emotional writer. I linked to the blatantly “emo” piece, said I was having a bad week, and we moved on.

I Wana Try
I didn`t really have a new years resolution, but I did realize the opportunity to do what I want in life is kind of passing by. For me pursuing my goals isn't entirely about a lack of inspiration. My life kind of sucks, I don`t really know what to do to feel better and accomplish everything I want.

Manifest
Who would have thought that 2020 would be the year of challenge, change and eye-opening events that would literally have us all scratching our heads like, “what was that?” To say the least, there were many, many lesson to learn and if you didn’t...I have to wonder were you sleeping while 2020 was happening? 2020 changed my outlook on life. I thought moving to Orlando from Jacksonville, Florida was the biggest challenge I ever faced but hands down, I was wrong. There were financial challenges where I almost lost my home, my car, my family;there were moments of utter regret and tears that seemed to be endless. 2020 was the year the Matriarch of my family moved on to other planes leaving those who love her behind to find our own way without her. Shortly after her my Uncle Martin found out he had stage 4 pancreatic cancer and died a few weeks later. Death of a loved one is and will always be the most devastating and emotional roller coaster of events any human with a soul will ever endure.

Barn Storming
Despite what folks tend to think, the dancer that rattles around in a pea whistle ain’t a pea. It is a pea-sized ball of synthetic cork. It’s my job to know these things. I’m an Eagle Scout now. Too much spit when you blow, and the cork gets stuck. If it’s jammed in the wrong spot you can hardly make any sound at all.

2021: The Year of Calm
Its pretty safe to say that 2020 as a year wasn't the best. COVID-19 brought about a tonne of problems for everyone; one being the creation of a world-wide lockdown. In England, we saw so many variations of lockdown that it was kind of hard to keep up. So it wasn't really surprising when articles started to come out of people experiencing declining mental health; from burnout by working from home to general anxiety and depression from an uncertain future.

Remember Me
I heard him before I saw him. But Owls are always so quiet that I'm very sure he wanted me to look. As I looked up he landed on a branch 20 yards away. Bright white with black speckled feathers puffed up to survey my back yard. I love owls and I was exhilerated at the sight. I followed after him snapping phone pictures to capture the moment. Then I ran to see if the humane 'live' mouse trap I had set in my studio happened to have trapped a live mouse, a meal to feed my friend. Now, slowly, I brought the mouse out to the owl as a peace offering. With regal dignity the Owl saw my mouse as I tossed it toward him. He paused, then pounced, then standing on the ground with the mouse in his mouth, looked at me and swallowed.

My New Years Resolutions for 2021
Like many people, I set resolutions for the year every January. My resolutions don't tend to change much from year to year - I usually set the same ones, or close to the same ones - lose weight, read more, make more money from freelance writing. Of course, they're not that general. I usually set specific targets for what weight I want to get down to, how many books I want to read, and how much I want to make from writing. Here are my resolutions for this year.

2021: The year of Positivity
Well, 2020 is finally behind us. The year everyone wanted to be over has finally come. However, here in the UK very little has changed since March, in fact, we're back in a national lockdown. Like many, finding motivation and a sense of life has been tiresome at the best of times. I will admit, a few existential crises have been had, I didn't complete everything I wanted to do in 2020 and I beat myself up about it. Starting 2021 in yet another lockdown isn't perhaps the best start to the year, however, instead of dwelling on the things I cannot do I want to focus my energy on myself. It has been a tough year on every one that is why I believe 2021 is the year for positivity! Not only for yourself but towards others. Learn to love life now, even if you are in a standstill with your goals.

Where Do We Begin with What Happen on the 2020 Binge?
The year 2020 showed us that anything can happen here on Earth. It has presented chaos bypassed what anyone was ready for. Whether it was cultural differences, anxiety of many faces, a virus no one understands, lost lives, closed businesses, unemployment, and an election that just was the tip of the iceberg.
