How To Overcome Your Own Drama And Find Hope Again
I keep hearing people repeating constantly how life is hard, and complaining about their struggles and problems in life. I completely agree that one should NOT suppress their emotions, but work through them, express and process them. Pretending everything is well and saying affirmations without this process is not going to do the trick. It might help trick the brain into being happy, but to truly shift from the darkness you need to look at the issue, work through it, and YES, you need to let it go. It may take a while, but it is essential if you want to change your situation.

Patronus and Strength
Expecto patronum. This term is a spell commonly used in Harry Potter specifically in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. The spell is meant to cast away the darkness of Dementors and their negative energy by illuminating the dark and sending positive energy. It is also a latin phrase meaning, I await a guardian. I wish I had magic to cast this spell throughout my life.

Voice
Everyone in the world has a unique voice and also dislikes hearing their own. I am no exception to that truth. I have grown up my whole life with people pointing out the way I speak whether it be commenting on how I sound cute or just wanting to pick on me for it. I have a hard time pronouncing most words that start with “R” which usually ends up sounding like “W”. There are even multiple words that I struggle to pronounce with an “R” in general that is not at the beginning. Even now at the age of 24 I still have people commenting on how I speak, but thankfully everyone just assumes I have an accent from another state. I would like to tell a little bit about my story growing up with this struggle.

4 Cornerstones to Foster Creativity and Remember Your Spark
A majority of us are locked into a world of routine. As we slot away our work hours and worry about what each day brings, we decide to give up a part of ourselves in the process. It's quite demoralizing and can lead to somewhat of a dull gray mental space; each day blends into the next, and the novelty and wonder of life we remember from our youth fades away. Eventually, holding onto any spark of creativity or meaning becomes difficult as we sink into an ocean of expectations and anxieties.

THE INTERRUPTED ROUTINE
She was tired. A deep-down tired where everything hurt, and yet she could not tell exactly what hurt and why it hurt. Every morning was the same. Up at 5 a.m., eat, drink her coffee, shower, get dressed, gather her stuff for work, catch the 6:20 a.m. train to go downtown. She would get to work at 7:30 a.m., gather herself and her thoughts, start work at 8 a.m., work until 5 p.m., catch the train home, eat dinner, watch tv, go to bed.

Power of acceptance
ACCEPTING YOURSELF. As some of you will know, I am a 25 year old male NHS therapist who has recently engaged in 2 sets of his own therapy and found a way to connect as a “sufferer” as well as a “healer”. This “brief” piece is the start of a set of posts about some common methods of developing self-love and emotional growth, in a time where this is more important than ever.

The Coded Dream
A little black notebook, a code, and a dream. Amy was a young girl with aspirations and unwritten dreams. It wasn’t her time yet. She had to grow. The pages in her little black notebook were currently blank. She was so unsure of what should be written anyway. She desired so many things but it had to come to her naturally, it could not be forced. Lost within the status quo, she felt she did not fit in. People would often call her a dreamer. Over and over again she would hear that she needed to get out of her head and find the most logical and stable resources to live. She was hurt. She felt so lost and misunderstood as she stuck to the status quo for years to please everyone around her. There had to be more out there?

This-ability
I was earning a triple honors degree in criminology, law and psychology, while working part time driving a bus for a retirement home. It was a beautiful sunny summer day, and we had planned to take the retirement residents on a picnic to a park across town. I was asked to load the Coleman cooler filled with food, into the bus. I lifted the heavy cooler, and then turned toward the bus to load it. Suddenly, I felt a jolt of pain in my back and a sensation of my spine collapsing under the weight of the cooler. I knew I was in serious trouble. I headed inside to the nurses station and explained what happened. They gave me an ice pack. It was all they could do.

Was it Worth it?
There she sat, tears streamed down her pale face as her eyes glistened in the salty pool that filled them. Her delicate fingers clutching what would be the last item he had ever given her. A simple black notebook. Her heart ached at the touch of it. Each movement of her hand caused a new shattering of what should be her heart in her chest.

The Vacation
This happens every time without warning. I find myself taking a much unwanted vacation. I had not planned on taking a trip, and yet here I am packing rather hurriedly. I knew for a fact this trip was going to be unpleasant and I knew in advance that no real good would come of it, but here we go again, this is my annual “Guilt Trip.”
