Motivation for the Holidays
Its 2020 folks. The blows have all been under the belts. This year has been nothing but rounds of “Hold my beer” moments, with each situation growing worse as the time passes. With such a tumultuous year for world events, I am sure everyone has lost someone or knows somebody who has lost someone.

A Phoenix from the Quarantine
I believe we attract what we seek, which is why the feigned struggle for white America to find Black excellence deeply annoys me. It’s a slovenly stance—one I see often as a Black climber. Outdoor companies bemoan not knowing of any Black adventure enthusiasts in the way I imagine news outlets scramble to highlight Black business owners, or how galleries might wring their hands searching for Black artists. ‘We just don’t know where to look,’ they cry to the heavens, scanning homogenized spaces with whiteness blinders on. ‘It’s just so hard to find Black people that (insert literally anything interesting here).’ And sadly, the truth is at one point, I also believed that lie—even as a Black artist myself; racism taught me my otherness, but whiteness taught me exceptionalism. Whiteness claims intelligence & creativity as unique to itself, and that not only was my existence an anomaly but that I would certainly never find more Black people like me.

I am here too.
There are so many things one could do with their life. My father told me to do something I enjoy, for he ended up in a cubicle for several decades in order to support our family. I respect him beyond measure for going back to university with kids, later in life and choosing to do something which involves extremely difficult math I have ever attempted. I chose art because I was encouraged to do it, (I was told I should be an artist since Elementary school, and I wanted desperately to learn how to draw) it was also the only thing I felt good at.

Tracking Your Word Count Goals in Scrivener
Setting daily word count goals is a great way to get that first draft done. It’s basic math. Write 1,000 words a day and you’ll have a totally respectable first draft in just three months. Even if you only write 500 or 200 words a day, doing it consistently will get you to your goals. And so I love Scrivener’s Word Count tracker. With just a few clicks you set writing goals that work with your writing schedule to help you meet your own specific writing goals. Here’s how it works.

#RecoveryJourney: YEAR ONE
I’d like to preface this by saying that I have NEVER lied about the love I have in my heart for the people in that life who have made me the person I am. Every laugh, every tear drop, hug, kiss, smile, every single inside joke, or heartfelt text/call. Every single personal connection I have ever made with any one of you who might take the time to read this, those connections we truthful and genuine... I just wanted to make that clear before moving forward. The lies I lived within the masks I’ve worn were not about my connections with every single human I’ve ever met, those connections, in ALL truth, might very well be the only things that have kept me above ground.

Being poor is not just about having no money in your life. It can also mean being poor in health, love, and happiness. The persistent lack of money or these other necessities of a comfortable living in a person's life is never something that happens by chance but an effect resulting from causes rooted in behavior and habits.

Quit Getting Things Done and Get Things Done
This week I am changing my task management application. I would tell you what I am changing from and to, but that’s not what this is about. I don’t want you to follow me to a new platform. I want you to use the one you have. I want you to stop spending all your time planning what to do and actually do something.

Discover your soul or Are you lost?
Sometimes I have deep thoughts , and I just want to share my opinion regarding discovering your individual soul path. Think of humans as books / novels. Everyone has a story but, what make your book stand out ? Is it the book cover ( outside looks ) , The inside ( personality), or just your summary ( the short version of your story .) Indeed, as humans we are similar to books because each individual create / write their own story. If you're able to create your own story ( life journey ) then, you will acknowledge who you are and what you want within life. Don't ignore those random desire toward a passion you have. Pursue it.

Why You Should Embrace Minimalism
What is minimalism? Take a look at what you have around you at home. How much of it would you label as “junk” or “useless clutter”? Look at your items and ask yourself “does this have a purpose?” and “does having this make me happy?” More and more people are realizing that they have made a grave mistake: they have spent years overconsuming and now are dealing with the consequences of having too much… well, crap. Minimalism plans to fix that. The idea of minimalism is that you take all of those things in your home that do not bring you happiness and have no purpose and get rid of them. Even better, recycle or donate everything that you can for those that will find happiness or use of them. I hope this post will help you to decide what you can do to be a better minimalist.

My Secret Life As A Janitor
33 days is 792 hours, or 47, 520 seconds if you're counting. But who's counting... I am. I'm counting the seconds of unemployment as part of my attempts to amuse myself with way too much time on my hands. If I had lots of money saved, or maybe lived in a tent in the woods, I wouldn't try so hard to keep my days structured and proactive. I'd wake up at noon and walk across the street to take a nap at the park. When I woke, I'd pet a lot of dogs and walk home.
