I Wasn’t Late, I Was Rushing

How August Showed Me the Vision Was Never Wrong, Just Misaligned With My Nervous System

I wasn’t wrong about the vision. I saw it clearly. I felt it in my body before I had the words to explain it. The purpose, the platform, and the people it would reach were all there. The issue wasn’t the dream. The problem was how fast I tried to make it real. I didn’t know it at the time, but my urgency wasn’t clarity. It was panic dressed up like purpose. It was survival running the show. I’d spent so long fighting for a seat at the table, trying to stay ahead, trying not to miss the moment, that I started mistaking anxiety for timing. I kept calling it readiness, but the truth is I was just uncomfortable being still.

This month, August has exposed all of it. It slowed me down in a way I didn’t ask for, but needed. It made the heat external and internal. It stripped the noise and left me with silence. And in that silence, I started to see the pattern. All those moments when I moved fast, not because the window was closing, but because my nervous system didn’t know how to wait. I thought I was being decisive. Bold. Visionary. But I was just afraid. Afraid I’d miss the chance. Afraid someone would beat me to it. Afraid I wouldn’t be good enough if I didn’t move now.

I called it momentum. But it was trauma. I called it clarity. But it was a nervous system stuck in performance mode. I didn’t know that I was rushing because I didn’t trust time. I didn’t trust alignment. I didn’t trust myself. And so I kept launching things before they were ready. Pushing conversations that needed more ripening. Saying yes to opportunities that looked right on paper but felt off in my gut. Because the noise of progress helped me avoid the deeper truth, I was still learning how to feel safe without motion.

That’s what August is teaching me. It’s not about checking out or giving up. It’s about staying present when the pace changes. It’s about letting the timeline breathe. I used to believe the lie that slowing down meant falling behind. But now I see that rushing wasn’t a strength, it was a symptom. Of pressure. Of disconnection. Of unresolved fear that I didn’t even know I was carrying. The truth is, if something is truly mine, I don’t have to chase it. I don’t have to grab it before it disappears. And I don’t have to prove my worth to receive it.

The vision is still alive. It never left, but I’m finally meeting it with a different frequency. Not one of grasping or urgency, but of clarity and capacity. I can feel the difference in my breath. In my choices. In my body. I’m not pushing because I’m afraid. I’m preparing because I’m aligned. I don’t need to fill every space or force every step. I don’t need to manufacture timing. I just need to stay connected to myself, to the moment, to what’s real underneath the old pattern.

This isn’t about abandoning the dream. It’s about honoring the version of me who can now walk it out without losing myself. August showed me the truth: I was never late. I was just rushing, and now that I’ve slowed down, I can feel the timeline start to open. Not because I forced it, but because I finally stopped trying to.
