There are many ways to relax after a stressful day, and what works best for you may depend on your personal preferences and needs. Here are some ideas:

Take deep breaths: Deep breathing is a simple but effective way to calm your body and mind. Sit in a comfortable position, close your eyes, and take slow, deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth.

Take a bath or shower: A warm bath or shower can help to soothe tense muscles and reduce stress. You can also add some relaxing essential oils, such as lavender or chamomile, to the water.

Here are some organic and natural ingredients that can be added to a bath to promote relaxation:

  • Epsom salt: Epsom salt is a mineral compound of magnesium and sulfate that is known for its ability to ease muscle tension and reduce stress. Add 1-2 cups of Epsom salt to warm bath water and soak for at least 20 minutes.
  • Lavender essential oil: Lavender essential oil is well-known for its calming and soothing properties. Add a few drops of high-quality lavender essential oil to warm bath water and relax for 20-30 minutes.
  • Chamomile flowers: Chamomile is a natural sedative that can help to promote relaxation and improve sleep. You can add dried chamomile flowers to a muslin bag or tea infuser and add to warm bath water.
  • Coconut milk: Coconut milk is a rich source of healthy fats and can help to moisturize and soothe the skin. Add 1-2 cups of organic coconut milk to warm bath water and soak for at least 20 minutes.
  • Rose petals: Rose petals are often used in aromatherapy and can help to promote relaxation and reduce anxiety. Add fresh or dried rose petals to warm bath water for a luxurious and calming experience.

Read a book: Reading a book can be a great way to escape from the stresses of the day and relax your mind. Choose a book that you find interesting and engaging.

Here are some book genres and titles that are often recommended for relaxation:

  • Dive in to The Bible. It's full of God's grace and perseverance. Start with Psalms. It a reminder of how big God is and that praising Him brings you to joy.
  • Poetry: Poetry can be a great way to slow down and savor the beauty of language. Some poets known for their soothing and meditative verse include Mary Oliver, Rumi, and Wendell Berry. You can also try anthologies of nature poetry or haiku.
  • Coloring books: Coloring books for adults have become popular in recent years as a way to de-stress and unwind. There are many coloring books available with intricate designs, mandalas, or nature themes.

Spend time in nature: Spending time in nature can help to reduce stress and improve your mood. Take a walk in a park or forest, or simply sit outside and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine.

The ways in which you describe to take the stress out after a busy day are inviting. I currently take advantage of some, but not all of these ideas. Sometimes we also have to remove ourselves from our normal surroundings and just escape for a little while to get back in the swing of things.
