Pain or Resentment?

Are you feeling or thinking?

Feeling is a sensation experienced through the senses, thinking is the use of rational judgement. One causes pain and the other causes resentment. Which one are you doing right now?

Pain comes from the uncomfortable reality that something is either stuck, lost or broken. Thought is the only thing that can cause pain when using your mental faculties. So, the only way to stop pain is to stop thinking.

In some spiritual spheres thought is equal to the force of gravity, which is the grounding force. Often, the popular saying is that "thoughts become actions". Well, it can be seen here that when thoughts become weighted they start to become actions or manifest. Now you see where the philosophical discussion is going. Pain can be extinguished by cutting out the obligation of action or manifestation.

If you are "thinking" as of right now then you haven't gotten the point yet. Inaction can cause stagnation but thoughtlessness causes freedom of action. Imagine for a second that you couldn't think about your greatest fear. If you couldn't think of it, would you face it? You can easily accomplish any action without any extraneous thought. If you haven't already try meditating on a fear that is not too large but engages overthinking. Silence your mind and go do the action or attempt to conquer the fear. Remember, this may take several tries and fails before complete thoughtlessness occurs.

In the thoughtless state, purity is penetrative. Nothingness is present and everything can be felt but is left unacknowledged. You are the abyss looking back at yourself. In this state you have the inability to recognize yourself but are able to do anything without sensation or doubt. This feels slightly psychopathic in that no feeling or sensation can creep to the surface. However, most would rather cause fear than feel it, right? I digress. Fear is nothing but a response to possible danger and not actual danger.

FEELING

As depicted earlier, feelings are what they are. You feel, you express and you move on. Feelings are only but a reaction to a wound that hasn't healed yet. In theory and reality you have no "feelings". Those things aren't important to your well being. Emotions are not feelings per se. Emotions are archetypical feelings that everyone can identify and express in the same way. Extreme joy is almost always expressed in a loud boisterous manner akin to your reaction if your favorite sports team lands a goal or scores a point.

Feelings get in the way of emotions sometimes as well. What you immediately feel may not be what emotion you want to show and vice versa. Emotions are usually deeper and more expressive in a way that feelings just aren't. If I said that I feel pain vs I know pain, you'd probably know the difference. Feelings cause resentment because they are not connected to valid concrete emotions. Your "truth" isn't what you feel its what you know.

If you know you are intelligent and emotively move in that knowing. You may feel depressed but are you actually? Feelings only serve the purpose of allowing you space to include yourself in the present moment. After the moment passes you should no longer be "in your feelings".

Reactivity is one of the leading causes for regret and resentment. You will rue the day you couldn't control your feelings. Feelings cause this resentment because whatever was felt, was felt quickly and without absence. Having no feelings and or opinions about something causes you to gain the ability to objectively distill what it is you're experiencing. Coincidently enough, those who do not hold opinions about things make more money than those who are highly opinionated. Having less opinions and or feelings also means that you are capable of non-judgment.

So, you see that feelings lead to resentment and regret while thinking leads to external and internal pain. Eliminating these reactive responses from your life can help you greatly without much push back. Let it be said that the 2 ailments of society are too much thinking and too many feelings. This isn't a call to abandon yourself or who you are, its a call to action through non-action. Stay mysterious my friends!
