Here's a list of ways you can get motivated to get more work done, feel organized, and be more productive. Most importantly it's a list that will help you to be excited about life. There's too much to be excited about for us to feel that there's nothing here for us.

1. Write down your goals in detail.

Think hard about what you want to accomplish in life. Where do you want to travel? What do you want to create? Who do you want to become? It's important to answer these questions in detail. Imagine yourself accomplishing your goals. Write down the feelings you have knowing that you succeeded. What are you wearing when you accomplish them? Who are you with? Where are you? The more details that you can add, the clearer the image will be. When I do this correctly, I get butterflies.

2. Have a conversation with someone you trust.

Having a conversation with someone that you can open up to not only allows you to be yourself but it helps you to hear yourself say things that you've never formed into words. You can finally let out the thoughts that have been running around in your head all this time. Share thoughts and ideas that get you excited. Talk about things that have gotten you motivated in the past. Talk about the future and what it will be like for you. Don't foget to make it positive.

3. Create daily goals

Daily goals can be tasks that you complete and track each day to see how you are progressing. You can "level up" each day or each week to push yourself and complete harder goals. For example, you can plan to do 20 minutes of exercise per day for a week. Next, make it 25 minutes a day for a week. Continue building and then get to change what kinds of exercise you do. Make it fun and change it often, this will keep you from getting bored or feeling like you've plateaued.

4. Have accountability meetings with someone close to you

Accountability meetings are when you get together weekly or bi-weekly with someone that is helping you track your progress. It works best if you are tracking theirs as well. During each meeting, you talk about what you did during the time between meetings and bounce ideas off of each other in order to continue progressing with your set goals. This works well because you have someone who confirms that you did everything in your power to complete your goals. They can also help you stay positive when you fall short.

5. Watch an inspirational movie

This may be my favorite way to get motivated which is why I saved it for last. Watching movies that inspire you is one way to feel that extra kick of energy that will lead you through a hard day of work. I have my personal favorites but I'll leave a link to some classics. HERE

If you do these 5 things you'll be feeling motivated in no time. Being motivated to me is being excited about life. Every day we wake up with a million decisions to make, which means a million opportunities knocking on our door. When we are feeling unmotivated, the door typically stays closed. It's harder to find opportunity and not as exciting when we do find it.

It's important to know that by getting to know yourself better, you'll understand what motivates you. Getting to know yourself is a lifelong process. The earlier you find out that you don't actually know who you are, the better. That's when the process starts.
