How to find your true self. You'll never struggle again.

The solutions

Nowadays, it seems like everyone feels lost. Even if so many people are in this situation, that doesn't mean you shouldn't do anything about it. After all, you're the only person that is going to be in your life forever, so you have to make sure that you'll be a great company to yourself.

How do you do this?

Well, the same advice won't ever work for everyone, so this is why I'm going to give you multiple pieces of advice from which you can choose to follow, depending on your situation and problems.

1. Think about the way you were as a kid

Because of our society's expectations, we tend to change the way we are or behave because of the desire to be accepted and fit in with the rest of the people.

The only part of your life that you can be assured was the real you, is your early childhood, when you didn't feel pressured to be anyone but yourself, at least in the beginning.

If you can't remember anything from your early childhood, ask your family about the personality you had as a kid, your hobbies, and your passions. Even though we change with time, at our core we will forever be just a more mature version of a child.

2. Find out what's holding you back

Most of the time there is a reason why we don't like who we are, so you really need to put in the time and effort to see what that is exactly. You can't change something if you don't know what to change in the first place.

The best form of self-analysis is not the one you get from your friends, family or any kind of acquaintances. No matter how well a person might think they know you, the only person that knows the real you is yourself. Everyone sees you from their own perspective, so you'll never even have an accurate answer anyway.

3. Get away from what has an influence on you

In order to really understand yourself, you have to make an uncomfortable step and, for a while, spend as much time alone as possible, far away from anything that can influence your personality or thought process. Take social media apps as an example.

Giving up on something you're dependent on might be very hard at first, but if you really want to achieve something important then you have to make sacrifices.

In order for you to enjoy spending time alone, you first need to know who you are and what makes you happy. Self-discovery is something that takes time and patience, and finding out who you want to be is something that you can only do alone.

It’s okay to feel confused, you can’t expect to have your whole life figured out before even starting this journey. Learn to love the process, and the destination will eventually come naturally to you.

Once you are ready with your self-discovery, not only that you became a better person for yourself, but for your friends as well. You’ll see yourself being so much more adaptable to different situations that you are put into, being of better help to your friends because you’ve gained wisdom, and finally being able to look forward to spending time alone, instead of hating it, now you are able to understand the beauty of your own self.

4. If you don't like who you are now, reinvent yourself

It's as simple as that. If you find yourself in a situation where you genuinely don't like anything about yourself anymore, then spend some time thinking about who you actually want to be.

Make a list of everything you wish you were, and work hard enough to become exactly who you want to be. When you don't set limits to your potential, that's when it becomes limitless.
