Passion is the energy that drives success in our lives. All great achievers had one thing in common and that’s passion. Finding passion is important but a little tricky. Sometimes we become excited about something and with the passage of time that energy disappears indicating that it wasn’t our passion. Here are three simple steps that will help finding your passion.

1: You Never Get Tired

We all have one thing that don’t make us tired. Or we can say, if you perform an activity for long hours every day and still have enough energy to do it, then that’s your passion. That’s why we never get tired while doing the work we are made for. For example, Michelangelo, the famous sculpture artist, used to take 10 to 15 days for a single piece. And after completion, he used to put off his shoes and his skin also came out with them.

Now, think of the driving force that kept him going without thinking about his health, his passion. Because he followed it, his name is still shining bright in the history even after around 500 years of his death. It shows that passion is enough to keep you going through the hard times and ensure consistency during downfalls. If we follow passion like Michelangelo, we can also ensure quantum gains in our fields whether its business, philanthropy or politics.

2: It takes you Out of Time and Space

We all have something in life in which we get completely absorbed and that’s our passion. You might have noticed that there is an activity that takes you out of time and space. In other words, while doing that, you forget about hunger, health, weather and time. Our passion makes us fully occupied that we don’t even have time to think about these things.

The famous mathematician and founder of the principle, Density of Water, Archimedes was drawing a triangle on the floor. Soldiers of the King came to him and asked to join them. He refused, they insisted and said we need to “hang you till death”. He gave a historical reply and said “let me complete my work first”. Now, what was the motivation behind it that he was not worried even about his execution? His passion. And due to that, his principle, Density of Water is still alive even after more than 1,000 years of his death.

3: People Know You because of Your Work

You are good at something for which people appreciate and respect you, if this is the case, it is a sign of passion. Because when you are passionate about something, you do it better than others and due to this people respect and appreciate you. However, you might face criticism sometimes. But you should follow your passion irrespective of criticism and appreciation.

Now, after following passion, what about money, always remember that money and fame are by-products of success. And you can only ensure success by following your passion. Numerous people across the globe followed their passion and became the icon of their industries including Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Jack Ma, Elon Musk, Sir Richard Branson and Jeff Bezos just to name a few.

Final Thoughts

Finding passion is important to become successful in life. We do a lot of things in life but among them, our passion is hidden. All we need to do is to check the signs of passion mentioned above and identify it. Without passion you can earn living but can’t make history. It is possible that you will face criticism while following passion but with consistency, you can achieve big things.
