The question we all try to answer is: What is happiness and how do we get it? We fill our lives with the preoccupation of happiness in many things, but it is possible that that desire will take us away from purpose.

I spent many years following the community recipe for happiness.

I lived with my colleagues, climbed into the workplace, ate out, bought clothes, and planned a nice vacation, but I was too busy chasing fun, and I missed out on fun times.

Everyone is very busy these days. It gives us a sense of self-worth; if we are busy, successful, fulfilling, important, and needed.

Because of this we can often become very busy to see that we are happy, and the happy times that are over us pass away.

We think that happiness comes in the future when our lives are perfect, after the explosions and entertainment, without tragedy or resentment. But happiness does not usually come from winning the lottery or marrying Brad Pitt. It is usually subtle and very small.

For example: a sunny day at the beach, your favorite slippers, lying in the arms of a loved one on a lazy Sunday morning - it’s all fun. We just need to learn to recognize it, to appreciate it, and to cultivate it.

Brené Brown puts it well in his book The Gifts of Imperfection: “Happiness is not something that is continuous. It comes to us from time to time - usually normal times. Sometimes we miss out on joy because we are too busy chasing strange moments. ”

Happiness is not about the final destination of pure perfection, but much more about the journey of life, and the times of perfection sprinkled everywhere, as long as we stop to see them.

So how do we find those moments in our lives and make sure we can find more of them to create a life full of happiness?

There are two main ingredients for daily happiness. The first is living in the present.

How can we be happy if we are too busy worrying about the future or remembering the past? And how can we be happy when we are too busy?

Take the time to smell the roses and be present; this is where happiness comes from.

People wait all week on Friday, all year long in summer, with all their lives to find happiness, but with the same sign if we are always rushing to get to the next place, we can’t take the time to enjoy where we are.

The second ingredient of happiness is gratitude. If we value all that we are fortunate enough to have instead of using our time and energy for what we do not have, we will be happier.

In our consumer-driven society, we focus on having more and more things - bigger houses, better cars, the latest in fashion.

It is easy to make the mistake of thinking that if you have something you want, you will be happier. And we are fighting the modern world with debt, obesity, and addiction because of this mantra.

We also tend to compare ourselves with others and demand what they have (their house, income, partner, appearance). These are sure ways to erase our gratitude and rob us of happiness.

There is always happiness, even in the normal times of the day, and we can touch this by being more present.

The next time you sit in a traffic jam, instead of getting upset over the delays or being distracted by a dream, why not take a moment to look at what you can appreciate?

Maybe it's the outside world, the sound of birds, the sunlight, or the fact that you have a car to get into and something to go on.

I hate winter. I even travel to the other side of the world each year to avoid it. But even on the coldest, wetest, and darkest days, I can still find happiness.

Maybe it’s the feeling of my cozy, warm sheets, or being wrapped up in a fire with a cat and a beautiful book, or the clean look of a beautiful place after the first snowfall.

I try to find something to be thankful for every day, whether this is just breathing fresh air, alive, healthy, or plenty of food.

There are far more poor people than we are, but we often overlook the little things that others can be thankful for.

I also found happiness from the "fun list" - a list of all the little things you love to do that make you happy. It is important to find time to do these things often. It could be a beach trip, listening to your favorite music, a hot bath, or sitting in the garden with a cup of tea.

As Robert Brault said, "Enjoy the little things of one day you can look back and see that they were great things."

Instead of waiting for the happy arrival, I changed my mind to see if it was already there; I just didn't realize it. If we look hard enough, we can find happy times every day. Or, if the day is too bad, get to your happy list and make your own fun
