- How do you balance your needs and your household?
- How do you balance your needs, household, and work?
- How do you balance your needs, household, work, and your relationship with your partner?
- How do you balance your needs, household, work, your relationship with your partner, and your children?
- Let us add animals and hobbies to the list as well.
How do you balance all this and not forget about yourself, and more importantly: your health?
That is a good question, that many of us do not have an answer for. There are those who do not even notice that it is an issue. They think that everything is perfect. Until it is not.
I have seen many around me, moving through life at a speed I can not always keep up with. There have been times when I felt a sting of jealousy, because of the adventures they have dared to jump into. Wishing I would dare to do those things.
In some cases, living like that has worked for them for years. They do not know any other way of living. Until one day when they hit the wall and life as they know, changes over a night. Their bodies just can not take it anymore and need rest.
In most cases have I seen their mental health taking a hit as well. Since they have to start all over again. Something not everyone is capable to do.
Balancing everything in your life is not possible.
- You have to learn to prioritize.
- You have to learn to delegate.
- You have to learn to see beyond today.
Most importantly: You have to understand that you only have one body. If you break it, then you are the one who has to deal with the consequences. No one else. So take care of it.
It is very easy in today's society to get overly stressed. Turn on the news in the morning, with the morning coffee and you will see enough to worry about what is happening out there. Before heading to work.
However, there are also many ways to find peace as well. If you want it.
You just have to find something to adapt to you and your lifestyle.
One of the most common actions might be: Get a hobby!
Doing something that you love, something that positively engages you is good on so many levels. Mentally, physically and spiritually. A hobby is a good way to relax your body and mind and can reduce a lot of anxiety.
Personally, I would suggest: walks, going running, reading, yoga, etc.
To get back to what I mentioned earlier:
Prioritize - You need to learn what to prioritize in your life. In order to find balance. Ask yourself: What matters most to me?
Make a list and focus on that list. It does not mean that you remove certain things from your life completely. It means that you put less time on things not making the list.
Delegate - If you have a partner, or friends and family members who can help you, ease your burden or can help you out in other ways: Let them.
Look beyond today - There are things you will not be able to accomplish today. Do not feel guilty about it. There is tomorrow.
Do not stress about something that can be postponed, to another day. You are not a machine. There is a limit to how much you can do.
Stand open for positive changes in your life. Your heart, body and mind will thank you for it in the long run.
Good luck!
Greetings Serena
