Once upon a time in the bustling city of Akihabara, there lived a young man named Hiroki. Hiroki was an ordinary college student with a not-so-ordinary obsession – he was utterly infatuated with a popular boy's love anime series called "Ephemeral Embrace."

The series revolved around a complicated love story between two charismatic male protagonists, Kaito and Haruki. Their journey of self-discovery and the challenges they faced in a society that didn't always understand their love resonated deeply with Hiroki. Every episode, every character interaction, and every subtle touch fueled his growing obsession.

Hiroki's room was a shrine dedicated to "Ephemeral Embrace." Posters covered the walls, figurines adorned the shelves, and the theme song played on a loop from his computer. He had watched the series so many times that he could recite entire scenes verbatim. His friends would often tease him about his passion, but Hiroki paid no attention. In the world of "Ephemeral Embrace," he found solace and a sense of belonging.

One day, Hiroki stumbled upon news of a limited-edition merchandise release related to the anime. A collector's box set containing exclusive items signed scripts, and even a chance to meet the voice actors in person was being offered to a select few. Hiroki's heart raced with excitement. He knew he had to have it, no matter the cost.

As the release date approached, Hiroki found himself growing more anxious. He constantly checked online forums for updates and refreshingly tracked the countdown timer on the merchandise website. The anticipation became an obsession, eclipsing his studies and social life. His friends grew concerned, urging him to step back and reevaluate his priorities.

The day of the release finally arrived. Hiroki, fueled by adrenaline and determination, was among the first to order the collector's box set. The transaction was completed, and he felt an overwhelming sense of satisfaction. His obsession had reached new heights, but little did he know that it was just the beginning.

As Hiroki awaited the arrival of his precious merchandise, he immersed himself even deeper into the world of "Ephemeral Embrace." He began writing fan fiction, creating fan art, and participating in online discussions. His social media accounts were dedicated solely to the series, and he gained a following of like-minded fans.

However, as Hiroki's obsession grew, the lines between fiction and reality began to blur. He started comparing his own life to that of the characters in the series, longing for love as passionate and all-encompassing as Kaito and Haruki's. His once-healthy escape had transformed into a refuge, and the real world seemed dull and mundane in comparison.

One evening, Hiroki received an email notification – his collector's box set had been dispatched and was on its way. Excitement and joy overwhelmed him, but as he eagerly waited for the delivery, a realization struck. His obsession had consumed him, distancing him from the real world and the people who cared about him.

When the collector's box set finally arrived, Hiroki opened it with trembling hands. The exclusive items were more beautiful than he could have imagined. Yet, as he gazed at them, he felt a pang of emptiness. The tangible treasures couldn't replace the connections he had neglected in pursuit of his obsession.

In a moment of clarity, Hiroki decided to reevaluate his priorities. He still loved "Ephemeral Embrace," but he realized that balance was key. Slowly, he began to reconnect with friends, focusing on his studies, and appreciating the real relationships in his life. The collector's items remained cherished, but they no longer defined his happiness.

Hiroki's journey taught him that while it's okay to have passions and interests, losing oneself in them to the detriment of real-life connections can lead to an unfulfilling existence. As he stepped back into the real world, Hiroki found a healthier balance between his love for "Ephemeral Embrace" and the genuine relationships that added colour to his life
