Are injectables the same as botox?

All Injectables are not similar, as they are made up of different materials and work differently.

All Injectables are not the same as Botox. But, they do have a few things in common. Only certified doctors can tell which one is good for treating your skin condition. Static and dynamic wrinkles are two different types of conditions that require corresponding anti-wrinkle treatment. A balanced combination of neurotoxin and cosmetic fillers can make it happen.

Neurotoxins are Muscle Relaxants

Botox has a capacity to relax muscles. However, neurosurgeons have been using it for treating neurological disorders that weaken the muscles, as in migraines or other medical conditions.

Now-a-days, skin specialists use it for reducing dynamic wrinkles, which naturally appear around your eyes, mouth and in between eyebrows. Aging makes them look worse. Botox injections turn out as a savior. It prevents this happening by allowing your muscles rest to where wrinkles are all over. The treat area doesn’t move, which eventually softens the dynamic lines. After injecting, the difference is noticeable within two weeks.

Cosmetic Fillers Fill up Volume

Other injectables are fillers, which effectively remove smile lines. Even, the flat cheeks and lips get life, getting a volume. As they are injected, the skin plumps up. In many cases, the scars fade away using them.

These are mostly temporary, which are primarily used for bringing life in the soft tissues, as in the smile lines. It means that they completely dissolve into the skin after a specific time interval. Calcium hydroxylapatite (Radiesse), for example, is a temporary gel that stays there for 18 months (one and a half year). Collagen is also a temporary protein that breaks down in six months or a year. There is another one called Hyaluronic acid, which is a temporary component that completely melts into the skin within 6 to 12 months. The manmade filler called poly-L-lactic acid (Sculptra, Sculptra Aesthetic) is the one that lasts for at least two years. The rare case is of polymethylmethacrylate beads, which is the only permanent type of dermal filler aesthetic world has.

Similarities between Botox and Fillers

• Both represent a minimally invasive skin treatment, which may be conducted in an office with no downtime.

• Both are the finest alternatives to surgical facelift procedures that delay aging.

• The end result of both treatments is completely natural once done expertly by any certified aesthetic doctor.

• Injectable neurotoxins or neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin) get the smoother and softer skin removing fine lines and wrinkles temporarily. However, neurotoxins work on dynamic line that are seen when you make any expression whereas fillers treat static wrinkles that appear when your skin is in the resting mode.

• Cosmetic fillers, such as Voluma, Restylane Silk, Radiesse, Sculptra, Restylane and Perlane, prove exceptional as they can be used to lift cheeks, reduce under eye bags and dark circles, smile lines. These all have been used for defining fuller lips and erasing vertical lip lines (smoker’s lines, lipstick lines) at Cosmetic Clinic Coolangatta.

• Fillers treat the loss of volume, which results in fine line or wrinkles that are seen at rest. These fillers strengthen the structure that gives the strength to your surface. This structure is built of collagen, fat, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. Aging and photo damages may end up in losing these four supporting ingredients. Fillers replace them to minimise this loss. Simply put, these are extremely beneficial in regaining volume.

• A decade before, doctors had only two alternatives- collagen and fat to inject and restore youth in to the skin. But today, a hyaluronic acid based filler can make it up all. The biggest advantage to inject it is that it does not cause any reaction because it is a component that is already found in our skin. Other fillers may react. Fat injections are permanent, but they cannot replace hyaluronic acid fillers because they may cause lumps over time when you lose weight in the face.

The smart physicians opt in a great combination of Botox and fillers. Both of these Injectables have anti-aging abilities, which help in fighting volume loss, fine lines and wrinkles. They act on three dimensional problems instead of crease and folds.
